I offer German lessons for beginners and advanced learners of all ages, tailored to how you think and learn. My teaching style balances structure with curiosity: clear explanations, real language use, and space to ask “why”, not just “how”.

About Me

I’m a native German speaker with a deep love for language, structure, and clear thinking. I teach German not as a set of rules to memorize, but as a living system, that makes sense once you understand how it works.

My background is interdisciplinary rather than academic-only, which means I’m very good at explaining complex things in plain language. I’m patient, observant, and quick to adapt to different learning styles, whether you prefer structure and grammar logic, conversation and immersion, or a mix of both.

I’ve worked with children, teenagers, and adults, beginners and advanced learners alike. What they tend to appreciate most is that I take them seriously: no talking down, no artificial “language teacher voice”, and no pressure to perform. Mistakes are part of the process: we use them as information, not as evidence of failure.

Culturally, I bring a distinctly German clarity combined with warmth and humor. If you’re curious not just about speaking German, but about how it’s actually used, thought, and felt in everyday life, you’ll likely feel at home in my lessons.

I am trained in Comparative Literature, German and Slavic Studies (as well as Sociology and Social Anthropology) and worked my way through a variety of languages myself. Teaching has always been a side job and partly a full-time occupation for me. In German, I usually tutor B1.1 or higher, and I gave German classes for A1 and A2.
In English, I typically tutor up to B2.

With some students, I would simply have a conversation and focus on giving them feedback on pronunciation and grammatical correctness. With other students, we would do their homework together, and prepare their material for their class so that they actually understand what they are learning.
