I give remedial lessons in maths, physics, and English for students of all ages, eager to fill in their gaps or refine their knowledge.
I have a very simple approach.
1. I analyze the subject of the student and denote the sections that I find essential to understand.
2. I think of exercises that can reinforce the notions required to understand the subject. These exercises are often both theoretical and practical. For example: to calculate the speed of a car, I will first explain clearly what distance and time represent in relation to speed, and once these notions are understood, I will give an exercise that puts the student in real life by making him imagining that he drives a car going at a certain speed.
3. I continue to explain important concepts / concepts through examples and let the student complete the exercises that I would have chosen beforehand while gradually leaving him more and more freedom and independence.
4. Once I feel that the student has understood, I test his mastery by confronting him with a more complex situation and asks him the solution.
5. We discuss his answer together and according to his understanding, I repeat steps 2-5.

As you can see, my approach is based on three pillars (the three E's): Listening, Exercises, Explanation

About Me
I am flexible and very patient. I have two younger brothers whom I have often helped with their homework.
I am dedicated to my work and very persistent. I like to do a good job and am demanding of myself and my students as well – this means that I like to set goals with my students and achieve them.
I lived in several countries during my childhood – including Senegal, Benin, Cameroon, and Belgium – where I learned English, making me perfectly bilingual in French and English. I studied in the Netherlands for the past three years, partly to learn Dutch, which I now speak and write fluently.
I like sports, reading, and adventure :)

I did [almost] all my schooling in English *** In your head you master the texts of Shakespeare and could make you look like a poet in English. Except you're just coming to London or New York and while you're still at the airport, you're told, "Shall I take care of your luggage for you?"
And there, disaster! You say, almost reflexively, "Yes, Hello, Thank you!" And hop you embark your unique suitcase and you have to follow ... And then you try to politely refuse but it only gets worse ...
"Aim, uh, I take .. you .. uh .. stay, no need! - I do not need help, no need how do you say that? - ah yes, need! uh .. me not need help .. I take! "
And here is your beautiful phrase 'poetic' is actually a collection of words put together against their will and having neither tail nor head.

My approach is focused on oral communication, so if you're tired of having the words somewhere in your head but not knowing when or how to get out, I'm here to help!

Ideally, you know the basic rules of English grammar, but you have trouble formulating [complete] sentences or having a conversation in English. You are not afraid of homework such as: talking to strangers in English, watching a program in English, or writing a short story telling a story

I focus on everyday English and Business English, but if you want to learn more complicated words or want to learn how to write beautiful English texts, it's also possible!

My name is Ségolène (26 years old). I have a double degree from KULeuven with a Master of Business Administration (NL/EN) as well as the agrégation (Educatieve Master). I worked for 2 years in insurance and currently work at Odoo.

My mother tongue is French, but from a very young age, I was educated in Dutch, which allowed me to become perfectly bilingual. I love supporting my students and seeing them progress. I offer academic support in any subject but also to help them learn how to learn, become better organized, and gain confidence.

MY EXPERIENCE :

I helped several students to pass the CE1D exam in Dutch (written, oral, listening comprehension). In addition, I also assisted students with their homework and for various subjects at secondary level (Maths, Handel (commerce), Sciences: WO, NW...).
Finally, it is also possible for younger children to learn Dutch in a fun way (language games, educational games).

During a test carried out on the CLL site to assess my level (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 or C2), I obtained the result C2: "The student expresses himself appropriately in n' any situation, by dominating the linguistic and cultural elements proper to a native speaker and by knowing how to distinguish shades of meaning."

Currently a civil engineering student at KU Leuven, I offer math and science courses for all levels and ages. Whether you're struggling at school or preparing for the math Olympics, or nervous for the engineering entrance exam, I'm here for you.
I offer personalized monitoring for each student with an approach adapted to different profiles. My lessons are not focused on dry and indigestible theory, but more on the understanding of key concepts on the one hand, and on the other hand assimilation via exercises chosen according to the student.

Holding a master's degree in civil engineering physics with high distinction, I offer mathematics, physics and chemistry lessons for secondary school students.

Beyond the transmission of knowledge, I attach particular importance to the development of critical thinking in students.

My goal is to lead students to ask the right questions: What does a calculation mean? What is its purpose? Why do we use this method? What is the objective behind an exercise? This approach allows us to move beyond purely mechanical learning towards a deeper and more lasting understanding.

I also encourage students to develop their critical thinking skills regarding the methods used: Is the answer consistent? Is the chosen method relevant? Why perform this calculation rather than another? The goal is to teach them to understand what they are doing.

Thanks to my academic background, I have encountered numerous situations where mathematics and science are used to solve real-world problems. This allows me to explain to students the purpose of science courses, showing them the actual use of the concepts studied and how they apply in concrete contexts.

My teaching method also relies on learning through practice: exercises are central to the learning process. They allow students to solidify concepts, develop good reflexes, and learn to structure their thinking when faced with a problem. I guide the student through this process by helping them analyze, understand, and solve exercises progressively and independently.

I therefore seek to transmit a genuine working method: analyze a problem, structure it, translate it into mathematical language, solve it logically and efficiently, and above all develop autonomous and critical thinking in the face of the problems encountered.

My goal is to restore confidence, explain things differently when necessary, and turn challenges into real successes. I primarily prepare students for the CE1D exam. First, we work together on each skill assessed during this test. Then, I guide the student through the practice of all these skills so they can approach the exam in its entirety with confidence and method.
Regarding the price, if you have financial difficulties, do not hesitate to inform me, we will find a solution. Money has never been a problem for me, the main thing is that your child improves his level and passes his exams.

My English classes are tailored to each student's level, goals, and learning pace, whether they are a young learner building foundational skills, a teenager preparing for exams, or an adult looking to improve their professional or conversational English. Having lived and studied in England for over 10 years and completed my entire university education in English, I bring an authentic and natural understanding of the language, far beyond what textbooks alone can offer.

Each session typically begins with a review of previous difficulties, followed by targeted explanations and interactive practice, including conversation, grammar exercises, writing tasks, or exam preparation, depending on the student's needs. I place particular emphasis on spoken fluency and confidence, helping students develop the ability to express themselves naturally and accurately in real-life situations.

My approach is patient, structured, and encouraging. I adapt my teaching style to suit each individual, ensuring that every student feels supported and motivated to progress. Classes are available in person in Brussels or online, making them accessible and flexible to fit any schedule.
