It is my conviction that the most pleasure can be obtained from playing the piano when you can not only reproduce a piece but also improvise with it. Interpreting and re-enacting a classical piece gives a great kick, but on the other hand it is really useful to get a dose of insight into harmony in order to learn to play more efficiently from the outside, or to make your own variation of it. And I think this can be taught right away on the keyboard for the beginner or the advanced, with whatever piece you like to hear, of whatever genre. I like to devote myself to such a piece and bring in some music theory and tricks that I discovered in the jazz world, intertwined with the classical method as the academy offers it! As far as I'm concerned, it is precisely this combination of reproduction and improvisation that gives the pianist the ultimate freedom!
