Helaas merken steeds meer ouders (ook vanwege passend onderwijs) dat hun kind niet het tempo bijhoudt wat op school wordt gevraagd. Ik werk zelf al meer dan 20 jaar als onderwijs assistente, sinds 2 jaar geef ik extra reken en lees ondersteuning in het reguliere onderwijs. Veel kinderen valken soms net buiten de boot en verdienen net wat meer aandacht en diepgang. Ik werk vanuit de methode waar het kind op school mee werkt.

For all students (secondary to college / university) who have difficulties with (certain segments) of English, such as tenses, verb conjugations or sentence structure, I offer a personalized and structured package on an hourly basis. Moreover, I provide useful tools, so that the student can continue in the long term and really get the hang of the material.

Lessons usually take place at the student's home (in their own study environment), but can also take place here at the office

Who am I? Language coach with over 18 years of experience who likes to help students and make language structures transparent and understandable for them.

I passed the IB diploma program for Biology Standard Level with full marks, I also received a 7 on my Internal Assessment (IA). I have a very good grasp on what the IB expects from it's students (all the weird and wonderful little criteria.) I have a very good grasp on Biology the subject itself, as it was one of my favorite classes and I understand the concepts on a broader and more minute scale, so I can help students to understand the topics as well as the specifics and how they all play into one another. I aim to provide students with not just the memorization of information in a somewhat robotic sense, but an actual understanding and comfortable grasp on all the topics, ideas and concepts. I can help with any homework or course work provided, including providing feedback and guidance on essays and assignments. I also like to set out extra homework (not difficult, just based on our sessions) to get back to me at the next meeting so that the student's confidence and grasp on the subjects continues to build and I can see where exactly they need assistance.

NB: prior to our meetings, if possible, I would appreciate being sent whatever course work or topics the student is currently doing in class (or the syllabus, in the best case scenario) in order to best maximize my planning and ability to assist.

However, it can sometimes be difficult if you want to order a baguette or croissant and in the event of a breakdown on the road you will first have to call in a 'dépanneur' who will tow the car to a nearby garage, because France does not have a roadside assistance service. Google translate then seems useful, but a translation machine knows no grammar and interpreting the context of a word is also not possible. "I have a breakdown with my car" translates as "Je n'ai pas de chance avec ma voiture". Now a garage owner can conclude from that that you have problems with the car, but you make yourself better understood by saying: "Notre voiture est en panne."

But how do you know what suits you? I will discuss this with you prior to a tutoring session. With extra explanation and targeted exercises I help you to get better in the French language. But I also look at how you learn the material and I give you tips to learn smarter. Of course I provide variety with the help of French material, just think of songs, film fragments and reading a piece from the most famous newspapers such as 'Le Figarot' and 'Le Monde'.
