Mandarin Chinese introductory course by a former expat in Taiwan
From 29 € /h
I offer Mandarin lessons for people who want to learn the language and be able to communicate in everyday life. Beyond learning to write, I offer to work on pronunciation and listening, essential prerequisites for oral expression and comprehension.
I adapt my lessons to the needs of the student, whether they are new learners, false beginners or already have a solid foundation but wish to strengthen their communication skills. Having learned traditional Chinese (used in Taiwan), it is this form of writing that I teach in writing, oral communication being undifferentiated between mainland China and other Chinese-speaking countries. However, I use the phonetic system of pinyin to simplify teaching.
My mastery of Chinese being above all oral, I propose to work on all aspects relating to pronunciation (Chinese initials and finals, isolated tones and in context) for beginners, and the fluidity of oral expression for more advanced levels.
Through my experience as an expatriate in a Chinese-speaking country, I am also keen to pass on keys to understanding Chinese culture to enable people who are considering a stay or a trip to a Chinese-speaking country to better understand the interpersonal relationships, habits, festivals and customs, beliefs, etc. which strongly influence life there.

About Me
If you are interested in the Chinese language and culture, are planning a trip to a Chinese-speaking country, or simply want to discover the language, this course designed for French-speaking learners is for you.
A linguist by training, I fell in love with the Chinese language and culture during an extended stay in Taiwan as an expatriate where I was able to fully immerse myself in the local culture. Following intensive Mandarin courses at a Taiwanese university, I worked as a volunteer for a local charitable foundation for a year and a half, then as an employee of the same foundation for six months. Subsequently, I continued to deepen my mastery of the language by teaching myself, with the series of textbooks from the prestigious Taiwan Normal University, and by continuing language exchanges with Taiwanese people.
My experience of intensive learning of the Chinese language over a short period, with the objective of everyday communication upon leaving university, has greatly contributed to my knowledge of good methodological practices for effective acquisition of the target language. Also, I always take the time to define precise objectives with the learner, which will allow me to design an adapted course and measure the progress made throughout the learning, essential for maintaining the student's motivation over time.
As a French person who has been confronted with the difficulties of Mandarin, but also a trained linguist, I have developed a course aimed specifically at French-speaking learners of the Chinese language, which combines theory with practice, with the aim of giving my students the same passion that drove me to master this fascinating language, and the ability to communicate in all types of context, according to the profile and objectives of the learner.
