Music Composition is an invaluable practice, that requires both technical skills and creative aptitude. In my classes, we will focus on establishing, building on and fine-tuning both these areas whatever level you're at. We'll tackle each angle of music theory (melody, harmony, rhythm, arrangement, etc) as well as looking at the histories of musical composition in both the Western musical canon and beyond. As a musician, composer, performer, and sound engineer, I have an extensive knowledge of all aspects of music - technical, creative, professional, performance - and will tailor my lessons toward my students' specific interests within these wide-reaching areas.

About Me

Hi! My name is Ben and I am an enthusiastic, motivated and dedicated music tutor with a specialism in teaching piano, trumpet, music theory, electronic music production and composition. I always cater my teaching towards my students interests and ambitions as I’ve seen through lots of experience that this method fosters the most enjoyment, fulfilment, self-motivation and results for my students. I am easygoing and patient, with an organised and fun approach to my lessons. The lessons are face-to-face and personalised according to the level of experience and the musical style of the student. The presentation of the information is clear and accompanied by practical examples.

I'll show you how to:
- use Ableton Live,
- program and control synthesizers and virtual instruments,
- use microphone and sound card to record your voice and your instruments,
- process sound with effects (plugins) and optimize it for diffusion (mixing and mastering),
- make your songs, from start to the last details.
