Trusted teacher: My name is Thomas, I am 24 years old, I am pursuing a bachelor's degree in Mathematical Sciences and I offer math lessons in Brussels for secondary school students. Before beginning any actual tutoring, I always arrange an initial meeting with the student and their parent(s) to discuss their specific needs, goals, and the best way to achieve them. This also allows us to ensure that we are on the same page. It's important to me to create a trusting environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, expressing their difficulties, and progressing at their own pace. Math is too often taught in a dehumanizing way, with language and concepts that seem designed only for robots, which can make the subject difficult to grasp. My approach is based on intuition; I want to make mathematics intuitive for those learning new concepts, while maintaining the necessary rigor. The goal is to dispel the limiting beliefs that hinder learning. The problem is never the student, it's always the teacher. I provide a clear and simple explanation of the concepts covered in class, with the aim of best preparing students for homework, tests and exams. As a student myself, I understand the difficulties that students may encounter during their learning, so I will be happy to help them and give them all the advice they need to succeed as best as possible. I am the eldest of a family, so I am used to helping my brother and sister with their homework or quizzes/exams. =>Non-exhaustive list of essential concepts covered in the program: -Fractions, percentage -Integers, irrational numbers -Studies of functions - Algebra: - first-degree equations with one unknown -systems of two first-degree equations with two unknowns -first-degree inequalities with one unknown -numerical calculation -algebraic expressions -second degree polynomials -Geometry and trigonometry: -Pythagoras, Thales, angles, vector calculus,... 5th year: Matrix calculus, determinants, systems of equations,... -Limits of functions and asymptotes, derivatives,... 6th year: -Complex numbers -Analytical geometry in space and plane -Two-variable statistics -Combinator -Probabilities -Antiderivatives, integrals, logarithms, exponentials

Trusted teacher: The Economics 1 course will start with a presentation of the demand and supply economic model in order to provide an analysis of the mechanisms and inner workings of competitive markets (price determination, equilibrium quantity, etc.). It will also be the occasion to investigate the impact on the competitive equilibrium of some public policies such as price control and indirect taxation. The course will then determine why, and under which conditions, free trade can be viewed as an efficient way to coordinate the actions of specialized economic agents. Through a careful examination of the (utopic) necessary conditions a market must fulfil so as to be considered perfectly competitive, it will be brought to the students' attention that those conditions are seldom (if ever) respected: the course will then provide an overview of several market failures, as well as study in detail several types of imperfect competition. Finally, the question of the possibility (and the necessity) of public intervention in a market economy will remain a central focus throughout the course. Part I: Introduction Chapter 1: "To think like an economist" - basic concepts (Mankiw, chapitres 1 et 2) Part II: Supply and demand - how markets work Chapter 3: The market forces of supply and demand (Mankiw, ch. 4, ch. 5) Chapter 4: Consumers, producers and the efficiency of markets (Mankiw, ch. 7, 8) Chapter 5: Supply, demand and government policies (Mankiw, ch. 6) Part III: Market failures under perfect competition Chapter 6: Externalities (Mankiw, ch.10) Chapter 7: Public goods and common resources (Mankiw ch. 11) Part IV: Firm behavior in competitive markets Chapter 8: The costs of production (Mankiw, ch. 13) Chapter 9: Firms in competitive markets (Mankiw, ch. 14) Part V: Imperfect competition Chapter 10: The monopoly and other examples of imperfect compeition (Mankiw ch. 10, 11)

A really good flute teacher who sets interesting challenges to motivate practising the flute every day and independently. She also has plenty of up-to-date ideas combining different material sources (including digitals! top notch teacher with IT!) according to my needs and interests. She teaches me a lot of very useful tips for my level and I can hear a clear difference from a lesson to another. Yet, no miracle either: you must practice! But with the right instructions, she can help you pass obstacles you may have thought they were impossible to overcome. And playing the flute becomes a mere pleasure and joyful challenge! Besides, she never allows you to rest in your comfortable zone! There are always plenty of interesting and useful things to learn with great pleasure rather than with pain and stress! Thank you so much Malvina! Looking forward to our future lessons!
