I'm a musician, teacher and DJ from New York City. Living in the Geneva area, teaching kids and adults—from absolute beginners to intermediate and advanced students. We use songs that students like, tailoring classes to the individual student. As well as teaching privately and through Aprentus, I've been a teacher at La Grande Boissière and GEMS Academy in Etoy. Parents and School references available on request. In New York city, I was an adjunct professor teaching for 4 years at Long Island University in Brooklyn. The courses were in music software programs (Reason, Garageband, Ableton). Students learnt to produce and mix their own songs in various styles — hip hop, reggae, house, electro as well as music for animation and film. In addition, I've composed music for television and have a long history of DJing in NY clubs and releasing music, vinyl and digital which I've continued to do since moving to Geneva.

We work the techniques, rhythmic styles and harmony typical of flamenco. Once the pupil has acquired a certain mastery of the instrument, he can learn to accompany song and dance in order to complete his learning; let's say that the accompaniment of song and dance is what will allow the student to live a real experience of flamenco and thus feed on the ingredients necessary to learn and understand all the richness and complexity of this art. The accompaniment of the song: At first, we will study rhythmic formulas on precise chords, then in a second time, we will play these formulas with the singer (recorded on audio tracks). In order to make learning more lively, the student will be able to accompany the teacher who will sing certain styles and will be able to participate in monthly workshops to accompany song and dance with a singer, a dancer and other students. The student can also film during the lesson to be able to work at home more efficiently. Finally, distance learning courses are possible, via Whatsapp or Skype.

I can start teaching you the basics and then have you strumming or plucking away in a short amount of time. You have the option of choosing a song that you would like to learn and I will teach it to you. I can teach you how to read tabs (if you do not already know). I teach from the basics up until you are confidently able to play any song. I am very patient when it comes to teaching. I have experience in guitar teaching and have taught people who were complete beginners, and helped them to be able to independently play any song they want.

Flamenco being of oral tradition we will not normally use music theory for its learning but mainly listening and imitation (however, if necessary I can also explain some rhythmic or harmonic particularities using this language for those whose understanding go through this). In order for everyone to remember what they have learned in the current lesson, I systematically devote a brief moment of video or audio recording with a slow take that includes a synthesis of explanations and a real-time take. If the student does not have anything to film or record, I can do it with my phone and send the file to him by e-mail. The latter finds in this way at any time a summary of each course. For beginners guitarists, I propose a grip of the instrument With traditional ultra - simplified melodic and rhythmic motifs, the first technical bases are thus acquired by playing rather than under the constraint of tedious exercises (which I can also propose if the student feels the need).
