Math teacher, I like to awaken my students or students to an approach of this subject that calls for a real understanding of the process.
Experiencing that in order to abstract well, it is important to be able to build examples, to feel the issues involved, and also to connect what we are studying with what we already know (hence the importance of some basic notions)
I am very patient because I know that there is no real relationship between the time taken to understand a concept and the mastery of it. Sometimes a quick understanding is limited. That said, when it is well understood, we do not forget. And we use imagination to apply!
