What would you like to achieve with the clarinet? Maybe you’re starting from zero. Maybe you played years ago and want to come back to the instrument. Whatever your starting point, I’ll help you turn that goal into a clear and practical path forward. With me, you can work on: Building a confident, personal sound Improving technique, breathing and articulation Playing with better intonation, rhythm and control Understanding and expressing the music rather than simply playing the notes Becoming more confident when performing Learning how to practise efficiently and independently Preparing specific repertoire, auditions or conservatory exams I want lessons to be productive, but also enjoyable. You should leave each lesson knowing what you improved, what you are working towards, and how to practise it. I am a professional clarinetist graduated with distinction at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussels (Master Degree in Clarinet) and holding a Bachelor Diploma from the Music Conservatory of Valencia (Spain). Currently I am studying for a Master's Degree in Bass Clarinet, so we can combine both instruments in my lessons. I teach students of all ages and levels. In my lessons I help the students to find a good contact with the instrument and cultivate a positive relationship with music by integrating the development of aural skills, sense of rhythm and an optimal body use, enabling them to connect with their musical imagination. The lessons are adapted to each student's needs and wishes. On top of playing, I can also offer lessons on harmony, form analysis and counterpoint that focus on understanding the structure of music. My lessons will already include many different aspects of the music being taught but there is the option of focusing the theoretical or the practical. i am looking forward to teaching you music!

The clarinet is a single-reed musical instrument in the woodwind family, with a nearly cylindrical bore and a flared bell. Clarinets comprise a family of instruments of differing sizes and pitches. The clarinet family is the largest woodwind family, ranging from the BB♭ contrabass to the E♭ soprano. The B♭ soprano clarinet is the most common type, and is the instrument usually indicated by the word "clarinet". German instrument maker Johann Christoph Denner is generally credited with inventing the clarinet sometime around the year 1700 by adding a register key to the chalumeau, an earlier single-reed instrument. Over time, additional keywork and airtight pads were added to improve the tone and playability. Today the clarinet is a standard fixture of the orchestra and concert band and is used in classical music, military bands, klezmer, jazz, and other styles.

My name is Hoviv, I am 32 years old and I am a clarinetist, pianist, orchestra and choir conductor. I offer clarinet lessons for all levels, from beginners to preparation for entrance exams to the conservatory or support at the academy. The practice of the instrument is at the heart of my teaching, so I try to help students understand and deal with the different issues related to the instrument by letting them play as much as possible. There are different ways to achieve this, such as duets with piano (I can accompany the student), two clarinets with other students or with me or other instrumentalists, but the main thing is to have fun playing. I constantly adapt to the requests and needs of the students with whom I always build good relationships. My teaching is based on listening, sharing and developing a passion for music in general.
