I must admit, for a math teacher, I had terrible grades in school. I always thought I wasn't cut out for a scientific career. When I decided to become an engineer, I had to start from zero and learn everything by myself. At first, I would have been incapable of passing an eight grade math test. Months of hard self-taught work led me to develop a study method focused on deep understanding of a subject rather than mere information retention. Through this project of becoming a private tutor, I hope to become the person I needed most a few years ago. The person that can, in addition of helping a student succeed, give them the motivation to learn. "Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day, teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime"

Certified with a Bachelor's degree in Computer and Communications Engineering, and pursuing a Master's degree in Civil Engineering in Data Science at UCLouvain, I have a solid foundation in mathematics and physics that I am ready to put at your service. My teaching method consists of reviewing the objectives you must achieve, testing your skills and knowledge, and then developing a solid plan to help you achieve your goals and overcome your difficulties. The explanation will be based mainly on my knowledge as well as some books. Up to the last grade level, I can teach all subjects in mathematics and physics. Beyond that, I can teach basic programming and some subjects in mathematics depending on your specialty. I have already taught high school students and I have strong skills in explaining and simplifying ideas to facilitate their understanding.

I am currently a teacher at the Haute École Léonard de Vinci (Institut Paul Lambin) in the chemistry department. I was also a full-time teaching assistant in chemistry at UCLouvain for science, bioengineering and management engineering students for 6 years. I also hold the agrégation (higher secondary education teaching qualification). With my background as a teacher at various levels of higher education, I provide private chemistry lessons, adapting as best as possible to your level by consolidating as much as possible the basics that often pose the most problems. I enjoy trying to make this subject, which, it must be admitted, is rather separate and complex, more understandable. I also try to make chemistry concepts more perceptible using concrete examples of their usefulness. I most often work in 1.5 or 2 hour lessons with a break in the middle and provide additional exercises to do at home to optimize learning. I teach classes in English or French. I would share with you my knowledge as well as my advice as a student and former high school student. About me: I am a student at the polytechnic school of Louvain-la-neuve. As a student I know how difficult it is sometimes to learn and assimilate subjects. My first student was a family friend whom I helped in high school in subjects such as math and science. She had a lot of difficulties and failures and it turns out that following my lessons which lasted two months and the entire duration of her exam session during which I followed and supported her, she came out with a report card without failures and a very large positive difference in marks compared to her last. Since then, I have had the opportunity to help several students in their journey from the first secondary to the first year of university.
