My name is Ashley! I've had many experiences tutoring and working with children of different age groups and backgrounds, because I'm especially passionate about helping people overcome their learning barriers and achieve their potential. I am a native English and Chinese speaker, who have also grown up speaking Bahasa Indonesian. I am comfortable teaching Maths up to High School advanced level (depending on the syllabus eg. GCSE, International Baccalaureate), and English and Literature for both second-language and first-language speakers.

About Me

Hi, My name is Ashley Yong, I'm a recent graduate in Economics and Policy Sciences who's now living in The Hague, Netherlands. I've had many experiences tutoring and working with children of different age groups and backgrounds, from English for refugee high school students, fire-building and marine wildlife identification for 10 years olds, and swimming for my non-bouyant friends! I enjoy helping people grow, overcome their weaknesses, build their confidence and ultimately, acheive their fullest potential.

I am a professional English teacher with over 8 years experience in various teaching roles. I have experience of teaching all ages from 3 up to 65+ in group classes or 1-on-1. Specific purpose teaching such as public speaking or business English also taught.

I will always make the class exciting, fun and full of laughter. I think people learn better when they are engaged and enjoying themselves. I have a wide variety of teaching materials too as I currently teach online to Chinese schoolchildren for some hours of the day. This class is to ve fluent in the everyday use of Italian. This class will be helpful for both who are personally driven to the culture and language and who need to use it on a daily basis in their working/studying environment. The class can be adapted to the student's needs.
Even though not fluent, I have spent half of my life in Italy, or academically involved with Italian culture and language. Therefore this class can be beneficial for those who would like to advance their knowledge.
There will be a particular emphasis on the cultural aspect of the language that will be given in the teaching approach, both to familiarize the learner to the particular culture and to get deeper knowledge on the grammar and pronunciation.

I have taken Mathematics classes in primary, middle, and high school in Poland. When studying abroad in the USA I also took a Precalculus class. Studying, now, at Leiden University College I have also completed a Statistics course. I have learned a variety of topics in mathematics, whether it would be fractions, basic multiplications, divisions, graphs, quadratic equations, and many more. During my final year of high school, taking the International Baccalaureate Program and Mathematics Analysis and Approaches Standard Level, I received a 6 on the final exam. I would be able to tutor in preparation for exams, school work, basic comprehension, or better understanding of topics, or if one wants to expand their knowledge beyond what is required at school.

Even though Mathematics can be logical and intuitive, at times it is also very complex and requires a lot of training to comprehend it. I believe teaching through practice is the best way to learn. Repetition is key to learning effectively, this way we may memorize the acquired knowledge for longer and successfully become more comfortable in mathematics.

I would also like to add that I lived in New Zealand for 6 years, and I am fluent in English.

I grew up in-between Mexico and the Netherlands and completed a bilingual education in English and Spanish. I passed my GCSE examinations after Grade 10 and attained a final score of 42/45 points in the IB in 2021. After graduating from a United World College, I move to The Hague to study at Leiden University, where I obtained a BA in International Law (summa cum laude).

I started tutoring at 14, but only began doing it regularly four years later at the IB level. My professional experience has also included college-level student assistantships. My approach to learning is influenced by my own diverse background. I have studied under different systems in the Mexico, the Netherlands and France, which allowed me to experiment with various learning methods and discover what works and what doesn't. When it comes to the IB, I especially understand how to structure written assignments (including IAs, TOK essay and the EE) and have several tips to achieve the highest results.

I strongly believe that each student has a unique way of learning, and my objective is to discover what works best for you. Together, we can make the most of our time and make the learning process enjoyable and effective.

Hi I am 21 years old and am currently a student at Leiden University doing a bachelor of sciences in environmental sustainability. I completed my A levels in Maths, Physics and Biology with grades A in Maths and Biology. I also did an AS level in Chemistry from the British School in the Netherlands.

My name is Xander and I am 19 years old. I was born and grew up in the UK near London. I am a 23-year-old Maths Graduate from Wales who has recently moved to The Hague. I have been tutoring and teaching in various forms over the last 3 years and I have over 500 hours of experience. I am a professional rugby player and I work as a tutor around this as I love working with children and keeping my mind active.

I offer tuition in Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics for ages between 11 and 18. I’m passionate about helping others understand and appreciate the beauty of math and physics. With a BSc in Astronomy (Physics) from the University of Groningen and upcoming MSc studies at Leiden University, I’ve developed a strong foundation in both subjects.
