I am a qualified English teacher (TEFL) and a native English speaker from England. I believe that the best way to learn a new language is to be immersed in its culture. As someone who grew up in London, I am happy to teach you about English culture in our lessons. I also want to make sure that you achieve your goal, whether that is getting into an English university, passing a language exam or simply learning something new. I am here to help you with your writing and speaking, but above all, to make sure you enjoy learning or perfecting a new language!

Hello! My name is Lucia and I am currently a Master's student at Leiden university. I have moved here from London and I am offering English language and essay-writing lessons as a qualified English teacher (TEFL). In London, I studied History of Art and now I am studying Global Ethnography, which I am really enjoying. I am happy to also teach classes in Italian and Spanish, as I am fluent in both. I love working together with my students to challenge them and overcome their language insecurities. I want to make these experiences fun but I also do expect hard work. I am here to help you learn something new and exciting!

Education

I have a Bachelor Degree in Art History from London. At school, my final exams were on Spanish, English literature and History of Art. I continued to learn Spanish at university, achieving a C1 grade. I am currently studying a Master's at Leiden university!

I offer online or face-to-face English lessons to non-native speakers. I work with the student to identify learning objectives and any areas of weakness and tailor the lesson accordingly. Areas covered during the lesson include, speaking, listening, reading, writing, grammar accent reduction.
I currently live in Den Haag, The Netherlands. In addition to private coaching, I also work for an online ESL company delivering English lessons to children across a range of age groups. In addition, I also work as an ESL proofreader and IELTS private tutor here in The Hague. I hold a BA (Hons) degree and have a CELTA qualification. Prior to a career in ESL English teaching, I worked in the UK national press for the Times and Financial Times newspapers. It was there I developed my proofreading and communications skills.
In my spare time, I write articles for magazines and have had feature stories published in The Telegraph magazine, The Daily Mail and a number of health magazines. I have also written two language books. The first, 'I Already Speak Speak French!' is an illustrated book for children that covers the etymology of many English words to their French origin (attached is a sample of it for your interest!). It has been translated for the French market into, 'I Already Speak English!' The second book is called, 'Learn Business English FAST!' which draws on a teaching methodology used for effective, fast learning that I used whilst teaching English for the international company, GoFluent.

Are you confused by different accents? You will get used to my standard southern British accent in no time, and I will help you understand accents from Australia, the US and Canada too thanks to my training in linguistics.

📚 Reading: I will teach you how to increase your reading speed, quickly find key information and identify words with similar meanings. You will learn how to answer all question types including multiple choice, matching information, true/false/not given, filling in blanks, and labelling diagrams.

🖊️ Writing: You will learn about all Task 1 types including graphs, charts, maps and diagrams. I will show you how to describe trends, make comparisons and analyse differences. In Task 2 you will learn to make and discuss opinions, consider advantages and disadvantages, and write about causes, effects and solutions. Above all, I will teach you to write quickly, as it is essential to finish both tasks and reach the minimum number of words within one hour.

Hello!
My name is Alice and I'm from Geneva. I just arrived in the Hague to study hospitality management and Business.
I would love to give French, English, or German courses (grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, discussion, reading, oral and written comprehension).

As French is my first language and I studied French until I graduated from high school, it's for me more than natural to speak French and teach it.
Having lived in Germany for a few years and having passed exams I was certified with the B2 Telc certificate in grammar. It will be a pleasure to help with the German language (grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, discussion, reading, listening, and writing) as I have been very interested in this language and German culture.

Finally, I can also offer English classes as I have the C1 level and have been living in New Zealand for a year as well.

English is a language which is growing in In importance and is widely accepted as a key skill to have. As well as this, learning a new language can be one of the most fun activities you can do and I would be really happy to help you with this!
My name is Louis, I am a 23 years old and am a native English speaker. Before The Netherlands, I have lived in the UK for 16+ years; all of my school education has been in the English taught British school system. This has helped clients in particular, with children in a British school here.

I have designed my classes with the aim of building the basic skills required in holding conversations, succeeding in an English speaking environment but also teaching students who have an advanced level but require extra help (often with the technical side, for example the rules surrounding tenses and other grammatical points).

The classes are best performed on a one to one basis but I have taught small group sessions (less than 5) before.

Most people need to revise the basics of language over and over again in order to master it, and having a good knowledge of how the language works at its core, i.e. its grammar, will help improve one's language skills drastically.
I think the best way of learning a language is by familiarizing yourself with it. I therefore like to conduct my lessons mainly in the target language. Moreover, I will tailor my lesson to the students' needs, a language has 4 core parts (Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking), and each of us has different strong points and weaknesses when it comes to expressing ourselves in a second language.
