Hello! My name is George, I am 25 years old and I live in Berlin. I have completed my Bachelor's degree studies at Barenboim-Said Academy and I have just started Master studies for solo performance at Carl Maria von Weber Academy in Dresden. I am offering private lessons to those - beginners or advanced - who want to start learning or develop their skills in violin. In a very relaxed and friendly environment, we will approach together the small and big secrets of the violin technique. The main goal is to play the violin and overcome problems without stress, always enjoying music above all. Based on long-term experience, practice and performance. For students and violinists around the center of Berlin.

Présentation
My name is George, I am a 25 years old Greek violinist, living in Berlin for the past 5 years. I studied violin in Athens for about 8 years, gained the first prize and special distinctions in National Competitions and later, while studying in Innsbruck and Vienna, Austria, I also got the First Prize in Prima La Musica National Competition in 2018, at the age of 17. I have also been a member and concertmaster of GYSO(Greek Youth Symphonic Orchestra) since 2017.
I have completed my Bachelor's degree studies at Barenboim-Said Academy in Berlin and I am starting now my violin solo Master studies at Carl Maria von Weber Academy in Dresden, in March 2025. From an early age, I have gained a very rich experience of group and solo performances in Greece and around Europe. I have my own special way of introducing my instrument to those who want to start or develop their skills and learn to enjoy playing the violin without stress and anxiety. Enthusiasm and passion for music are my leading artistic principals. Patience and excellent communication with children and young people define my teaching as well.

Toby
Professional violin and viola teacher based in Berlin, teaching in person at students' location or online, in English, German or Russian.

As well as instrumental teaching and ensemble coaching of at all levels over the last 12 years, I’ve led numerous professional workshops, including ‘Music First’ and ‘Music Masters’ workshops in London and was an assistant on the Primary Arpeggione viola course and at the Springgrove music competition. As a member of the European String Teachers’ Association, I participated in their conferences across Europe.

I have prepared students for music exams at all levels, working with them on music theory, aural and sight reading skills, and regularly accompany students on the piano.

As a performing musician, I appear as a soloist and chamber musician internationally, recently including at the ‘Gstaad Menuhin’, ‘Schiermonnikoog’ and 'Rome Chamber Music' festivals. I have participated in several international competitions, notably receiving the Barbirolli prize at the Lionel Tertis International Viola Competition 2019, 1st prize at the Małopolska competition, and the Len Lickorish Memorial Prize at the Royal Overseas League International Strings Competition.

I hold a masters degree with first class honours from the class of Tabea Zimmermann at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin, and Bachelors with the same distinction from the Royal Academy of Music in London. I attended the International Musicians Seminar at Prussia Cove on four occasions and have collaborated with composers Garth Knox, Vasilis Alevizos and Thomas Jones on their new works, with performances in London and at the Agora Music Festival in Luxembourg.

As a chamber musician I have played with the 12, Seida and 4|12 ensembles, as well as with musicians of the Berlin Philharmonic and clarinettist Matthew Hunt at HellensMusic festival, with Tabea Zimmermann at the Laeiszhalle Hamburg, with Claudio Martínez Mehner and Christoph Poppen in Santander, and with members of the ARC ensemble at the Music of Exile Festival in Toronto, Canada, amongst others.

I was a member of the European Union Youth Orchestra in 2018, and a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain from 2014-2015, appearing on BBC Radio 3 broadcasts and a televised BBC Prom, as well as being involved in the NYO outreach programme ‘inspire’ in schools across London, including workshops and interactive performances at the Royal Festival Hall.
