I am a graduate of the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance and have been playing drums since I was 12. I have a wide breadth of playing experience including festivals, high-profile function gigs, studio recordings, international gigs, and more.

Having taught many students both individually and in groups, ranging from ages 5-50+, beginner to advanced, both privately and as a tutor at Preston Manor Music Academy, I am confident I can help you achieve your goals on the drums.

My goal as a drum tutor is to help you achieve whatever YOU want. Our lessons will be focused on what you'd like to learn, with the appropriate technical foundations to help you reach your goals.

I believe lessons should be a learning experience for both students and teachers, and most of all, they should be FUN!

Online or face-to-face lessons available, no equipment needed initially! For lessons at students' addresses, a small extra fee will be charged depending on the extra travel time and cost.

Education

Having studied Music at GCSE and A Level, I continued to study at
the Hertfordshire College of Music for my RSL Level 3 Diploma for Music Practitioners. After achieving a Distinction *, I went on to study Drums at the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance.

The class if for aspiring drummer from all level and ages. You will learn about technique (hands and feet), as well as styles (Pop, Rock, Blues, Funk, Soul, Jazz, Electronic, etc.), reading and transcription, time keeping, etc. The lesson will be entirely based on the student's needs and I will adapt the content based on those.

I will always maintain a supportive and positive environment for the student, the objective being to help him / her reach his / her own goals in a way that is both challenging and fun. My aim is not to overwhelm the student with content or to make him / her feel negatively in any way, shape or form !

For the last 20 years I have taught hundreds of drummers both privately and in formal institutions such as BiMM London (formerly Drumtech), ICMP and LMA colleges. I have developed a strong reputation, helping musicians to sound great behind the drums.
My priorities as a player are always to be able to make the band sound great.
I work on fundamentals that are directly applicable in musical situations.
Whether I help someone taking their first steps on the instrument, or professional players who want to fine tune their technique, I have a very similar approach:
It starts with a dialogue, understanding the person I work with, a diagnostic then a plan to reach our goals.
