My name is Lucie, and I have a degree in civil engineering and computer science from ULB (Brussels). I've been teaching math for several years now.
My teaching method is very student-oriented. I recognize that every student is different, and the goal of a tutor is to help each student achieve the best possible results. As such, I can provide my own materials for the class if needed, or I can help and advise on materials the student brings from school. I am very flexible and willing to adapt the role the student needs.

Just between you and me... Math is no as difficult as you think!
After 7 years' experience as a private tutor, with over a hundred students, I've developed effective teaching methods to help students catch up quickly.
Where do academic difficulties come from?
There are no bad pupils, only bad methods.
Generally speaking, a lack of self-confidence leads to a loss of motivation, which in turn leads to a drop in results. It's a common vicious circle that even parents can find themselves powerless to break, and that's where the tutor comes in. That's why I adopt a less academic and more personal approach to overcoming these difficulties.
What do I do?
I work in depth with the student on the methodology to be adopted to facilitate the acquisition of concepts and optimize their restitution during the tests. Every student is different, which is why the first lesson consists of setting up a personalized and effective refresher program.
This is broken down into four stages:
- Identify and fill in any remaining gaps
- Establish effective learning methods
- Integrate reasoning mechanisms
- Learning how to restore knowledge
Gradually, the automatisms allow you to gain time, rigor and autonomy. Motivation and enthusiasm are restored, and the future of school can be envisaged with greater peace of mind.
