I am an experienced chess coach currently teaching around 50 students across Rugby and Daventry, working with children from 5 years old up to more advanced levels. My lessons are engaging, structured, and tailored to each child’s ability.

In my classes, students will learn:
• The fundamentals of chess (rules, piece movement, checkmate patterns)
• Key tactics and strategies to improve their thinking
• How to plan ahead, stay focused, and build confidence
• Practical game experience through guided play

I teach both complete beginners and children who already know how to play and want to improve. My goal is to make chess fun while helping each student make real progress.

I also regularly organise children’s chess tournaments in Rugby, giving students the chance to gain real game experience in a friendly environment.

All lessons are conducted face-to-face, as I believe this is the most effective and productive way for children to learn and stay engaged.

Whether your child is just starting or looking to take their chess to the next level, I am confident I can help them improve and enjoy the game.
