Drawing is, for me, the foundation of many creative works. We will gradually build your understanding of texture, shape, and proportion. We will work on various themes, materials, and formats. Afterward, you can choose the approach that resonates with you, and we will focus on that.

For Chinese calligraphy: you don't need to understand the language to be able to appreciate the beauty of Chinese calligraphy. For me, I see Chinese calligraphy as a combination of negative space and different lines. We will start with the background story of Chinese calligraphy, and from there, you can choose which style of calligraphy you would like to develop

These lessons are for people who want to develop their own style and live out their creativity based on observation. Through various techniques and perspectives, I introduce you to the human body and its wonderful forms and expressions, based on constantly changing living models. For beginners to advanced.

Drawing from observation of all kinds is also possible. Discovering perspective and learning to 'see', to then render as 2-D and thus create the illusion of 3-D.

I am Naval Architect & Engineer working in East Flanders. I know Autocad and Rhinoceros very good. Basically, my aim is to teach how to model a structure or curved surfaces in Rhinoceros; preparation of 2D drawings in Autocad.

Regarding to these softwares, I have more than 5 years of solid experience. According to the process I will be asking some houseworks and I can provide progress reports so that you can follow where you are.

PS: I can not give this lessons in Dutch (Not yet), this option is not possible to modify, so please be aware.

In this lesson you will learn through the work of Andy Goldsworthy to reflect on the philosophical concepts that engage and drive the artist. You will learn a number of universal principles of looking and understanding, which you can also apply to other works of art.

My father teaches Chinese calligraphy (书法) as it is his passion. If you are interested in the art of calligraphy, the technicalities behind Chinese calligraphy (stroke order, harmony, correct strokes, etc.) and would love to hear more about the history behind calligraphy and the characters, this class might be something for you.

Previous knowledge is not required but a basic understanding of Chinese characters (traditional or simplified) and a basis in writing would be helpful. However, we could build it up from scratch as well.

Equipment can be provided during the classes (brush, ink and paper).

I am a visual artist born in Barcelona, settled in Belgium since 2017. As an artist I have accumulated experience for the last 25 years. I am graduated with an Academic Bachelor in Fine Arts in the University of Barcelona and graduated as a Master in Visual Arts at Sint Lucas School of Arts in Antwerpen.

I am specialised in painting, drawing, experimental films, installations, language, sound and curating. In other words, I am a multidisciplinary artist.

I understand the artistic practice as a way to understand ourselves and the situations which surrounds us. In my classes I don't teach how to do Art, but as how to say something through your artistic work. With me you can work independently, with a coach who will challenge you with some assignments and giving feedback to your personal concerns.

In addition, you will learn how to work with several mediums, preparing your own material: paintings, canvases, and so on.

You will not only receive individual coaching but as encourage you to look other artists or take into account other references connected with your concerns.

Finding, discussing and retaking solutions together are the core of my classes.

You will learn how to operate a camera on manual mode, either digital or analog (digital recommended). We will make photographs together on the street (majority) and in a studio of subjects including:
architecture, portraits, still life, landscape, fashion and any other subjects of interest.

We will work together on getting the image from the camera onto the computer in the correct format and then how edit and eventually print the image in high quality. With this we will look at different papers and the effect that they have on your image.

We will cover some monumental photographers that have shaped the history of the medium and we will explore current photographers that are currently exhibiting in Antwerpen, this includes visits to Ibasho Gallery, Stieglitz19, FOMU.

We will make an end product that will consist of one large print framed, a small zine based on one concept/theme. to achieve this we will work together in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign.

I am an artist and philosopher from Amsterdam currently living in Antwerp. I studied in London where I acquired a BA from Art Academy London and a BA in philosophy from St Mary's University London.

Artistic development starts by identifying your artistic interest. As artists, we don’t always know why we draw and paint the things that we do. Yet they are not random. What captivates us or draws us towards certain artworks? This might be the tonal way in which light reflects, structural forms or mathematical division. The point being, is that we all have such aesthetic interests and step 1 is finding out what interests you!

Step 2 is helping you express your interests through painting techniques, styles and materiality. But it all starts with you. What do you want to say? And how? I will help you do this through discussion, looking at your previous work (if you have any), introducing you to a LARGE variety of artists, potentially copying their styles. I adjust my classes according to your needs.

The goal is simple: to come to understand your artistic interest, help you find techniques to express them and develop your artistic language.

(Please note that just because you have found an artistic interest and a way to express it, it does not mean that you must do only one thing for the rest of your life. It is the downfall of creativity to repeat and paint the same way over and over again. Instead, allow your interests to drive your creativity. Let it be the starting point, venture out and discover it from various angles and ways of expressing it. But also be mindful that as we grow our interests can change and as they change, we must remain honest and respond accordingly such that our artistic language can also grow.)

Since 2013, you can follow individual lessons to learn to paint. Lessons take place in the centre of Mechelen. You learn to paint with acrylic or oil paint. You will receive guidance in the themes that you want. This could be a portrait, for example. Or would you like to learn to work abstractly?
