Trusted teacher: Hey! Are you looking for a young, approachable yet meticulous tutor in Computer Science or Mathematics? Then I believe I might be the tutor for you! I offer lessons in the aforementioned subjects (English only) for high-school and bachelor students at the start of their studies. A little bit about me: My name is Bozhidar and I am a MSc Data Science student at ETH Zuerich. Last year, I completed my bachelor's in Computer Science at TU Delft (the #1 technical university in the Netherlands) with distinction. I was a teaching assistant for 10 courses during my stay at the university. Additionally, I have given private lessons to a few high school and bachelor's students, so I believe I have accumulated enough experience with guiding and tutoring students across different disciplines. I have found out that I enjoy teaching a lot, so that is why I am here - to help you and myself! My expertise: During my high school years, I won tens of awards and scholarships for achievements in Mathematics and Computer Science. I also won my high school's recognition award which is given to one student every year for distinctive results. I've helped high-school and university peers with exam preparation, taught whole courses privately, prepared sample exams, and reviewed and graded real ones. Regarding the university courses I have experience in, I have taught: - Object-Oriented Programming - Reasoning & Logic - Computer Organisation - Algorithms and Data Structures - Web and Database Technologies - Calculus - Information & Data Management - Automata, Computability and Complexity - Concepts of Programming Languages - Computational Intelligence Here are some of the reviews I have received as a teaching assistant: Overall: 4.97/5 (70 reviews) 5/5 - "Great job! Trusted teacher: I am a professional violin and viola teacher based in Zurich, teaching in person at students' location or online, in English, German or Russian. (Reviews below) As well as instrumental teaching and ensemble coaching of at all levels over the last 12 years, I’ve led numerous professional workshops, including ‘Music First’ and ‘Music Masters’ workshops in London and was an assistant on the Primary Arpeggione viola course and at the Springgrove music competition. As a member of the European String Teachers’ Association, I participated in their conferences across Europe. I have prepared students for music exams at all levels, working with them on music theory, aural and sight reading skills, and regularly accompany students on the piano. As a performing musician, I perform internationally as a soloist and chamber musician, recently including at the Victoria Hall in Geneva, Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg and Philharmonie in Berlin. I’m a Tillett Trust and Villa Musica artist, winner of the Małopolska competition, Barbirolli Prize at the Lionel Tertis International Viola Competition and Len Lickorish Memorial Prize at the Royal Overseas League International Strings Competition. I hold a masters degree with first class honours from the class of Tabea Zimmermann at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin, and Bachelors with the same distinction from the Royal Academy of Music in London. * Reviews * Stephanie W. Toby is an outstanding instructor and works with children very naturally. My 11 year old son has been taking lessons with Toby for over two months and is eager for each lesson. Toby is extremely talented, but beyond that, he engages my son deeply with the music itself, fundamental techniques, music theory, and even the interpretation of the music. Toby is kind, encouraging, and works with students at a level that is appropriate. He has allowed my son to chose music that if fun and interesting to practice, even though the pieces are challenging. In fact, I often sit in to listen to the lessons, as they are so good. My son has had a couple of lessons with Toby while company has been over, and everyone has commented on how amazing Toby is as an instructor. I can not recommend Toby enough and hope to continue lessons with him for a long time. Pamela B. Toby is really a great teacher who teaches the pieces well and brings out more of the feeling in the playing. We particularly liked that. Good technique is one thing, but feeling the music is such an important element in music and learning a piece of music. He also teaches theory very well! Tatyana M. Toby is a fantastic teacher. He is very reliable as he is consistently organised and punctual. I constantly see progress in my child’s music skills because every lesson Toby delivers is effective and well-structured. I highly recommend him to all who wish to learn or improve on their music skills. Shaun W. Knowledgeable and frank, Toby was able to provide me with crucial information quickly and efficiently. Hanna S. Toby can explain things very well and understandably, is patient and friendly and easily adapts to the student's level. Jacques R. Toby is an excellent tutor with top teaching skills..he teaches music theory in a way my 12 year old son understands the lesson easily; Toby is very attentive

Trusted teacher: 你好!Grüezi!Hola!Hello! I'm a Confucius Institute (the ONLY globally recognized official institution for teaching Chinese to speakers of other languages) certified Mandarin teacher. I'm also an official YCT (Youth Chinese Test)/ HSK (Chinese Proficiency Test)/ HSKK (Chinese Proficiency Spoken Test) test examiner. In addition to giving private lessons, I also teach Chinese at international schools and lead Mandarin immersion Spielgruppe (playgroup) in the German-speaking part of Switzerland. My speciality is teaching children between the age of 2.5 and 12 in an immersive and interactive learning environment. By means of guided game-playing, painting, story-reading, drama activities, song-singing, dancing, and handcraft-making, kids achieve organic language acquisition while having a lot of fun. The predominant features you will find in my class are tailor-made teaching materials and methods that are customized to best suit your specific study objectives (Preschooler Chinese, K-12 Chinese, YCT, HSK, Beginner Chinese, Conversational Chinese, Business Chinese...etc.). As a language learner myself (B.A. major in Spanish and currently studying German), I have great patience and willingness to help you on your journey towards Chinese proficiency, because I know how frustrating it could get at times. Being in the shoes of a linguistics student for years also enables me to better instruct you, as I understand very well what are the things a learner would find helpful. I welcome students of all age groups and prior proficiency levels. Looking forward to sharing my knowledge of Chinese language and culture with you:)

I had the great privilege of having Sofia preparing me for a competitive international orchestra audition in November 2022. During the brief time we had for the preparation, Sofia has not only shown thorough understanding of violin techniques - from the fundamentals to the more virtuosic - but also a command of the whole spectrum of musical expressions, both of which she was able to convey with clarity and effectively. Furthermore, due to her extensive experience in performances/auditions, she identified my strengths and weaknesses immediately from the start and designed a strategic practice plan specifically for me, which helped me improve rapidly within our short time frame and maxed out my performance at the audition. She is a rare teacher who is encouraging and shares the students’ passions, without compromising critical judgement in any flaws in performance, giving me a realistic assessment of my abilities and a great sense of security before the audition. Musical matters aside - she is a caring, warm, and passionate person who does not hesitate to mobilise all her resources to help me -intellectually or otherwise, despite her busy schedule. I honestly could not have completed my audition without the advice and confidence she gave me. 10/10 would recommend.

Noel was awesome. He is a very talented young musician, his ways of explaining musical notes and how they aply to the Accordeon was coherent and easy to follow. I had no idea about Accordeons at all and I never played a musical instrument before. Noel was able within 5 hrs to give me a very basic but helpful insight into how to play the left and then the right hand. He also explained me the basic of reading and writting notes. I am very thankful for his help to learn the very basic of playing the Accordeon, and I would recommend him for anybody interested to learn to play the Accordeon. He is capable to teach any level and any age groups, from kids to seniors.

Jiaqi has adopted her teaching approach to the age 5 and 6 of our sons and created a tailer-made sessions that contain crafting, drawing and game-playing that our boys love very much. While they really enjoy the sessions and the interaction is great we see the progress: our guys start teaching us Mandarin, read signs on all chinese products and show to their friends all the crafting they made together with Jiaqi. I'm happy to see that they learn Mandarin in such an organic way and highly recommend Jiaqi for any kind of learning classes with kids!
