Experienced Online GCSE Science and A Level Biology Tutor
I have graduated in Biomedical Science (BSc Hons) at the University of Birmingham and have a Master’s of Research in Public Health from the University of Manchester. I have advanced expertise in oncology, cell biology and epidemiology and thus can provide tutoring from a position of someone who has pursued a career in science. I spent 5 years working in clinical research, including a role in Melanoma clinical trials as a Research Portfolio Manager at The Christie Hospital. I have now left clinical research as I have returned to education to study Medicine (Graduate Entry) and can thus provide medical interview coaching. Additionally, I have previous experience working in secondary schools across the UK. I am available for Science tutoring at GCSE and Biology at A-level. Most of my experience is with the AQA syllabus but I am also open to tutoring with OCR. Primarily, I deliver online tutoring, but am willing to consider 1-1 in person tutoring for those who are located close to Liverpool city centre or the University of Liverpool. I will aim to provide customised supportive learning and will ensure that I take time to establish the specific learning needs of each student. I am very friendly and approachable and will go above and beyond to support the goals of those I teach. Let me know if you have any questions! I am typically available weeknights from 5:30pm or on weekends.

Professional musician teaching guitar, ukulele, bass and music theory to all ages!
Hello! My name is Jen and I am a session guitar and bass guitar player with over 10 years of professional experience. I have performed in a wide variety of bands, playing genres such as pop, rock, soul, jazz and folk, and using techniques like finger-style, slap, palm muting and picking. It is so important for people of all ages to learn new skills and discover methods of self expression - playing an instrument can be a gateway to enhancing children's development and future life skills. This is why I am so enthusiastic about teaching music to kids but also to anyone wanting to learn. I will listen to their needs and goals and personalise the process for each individual ensuring they get the most out of these sessions. I am eager to share and teach my knowledge of these wonderful instruments and inspire my students to have fun whilst playing and in turn, excel as a musician and performer! I also teach music theory as it is a pivitol part of understanding the instrument at harder levels. I believe it's really important to teach with the students goals in mind and so to begin with, I would have a conversation about where they are with their playing currently, where they want to be and what they want to primarily focus on. This is so that we both get the most out of lesson time! I look forward to meeting you and playing some awesome music!

Maths Tutor - Primary school Mathmatics, Algebra, Pre-calculus, AP Calculus AB, Math SATs
Trusted teacher:
Throughout my years in school, I have taught math to many of my friends and classmates. I understand that math may not be everyone’s cup of tea and that some students like it more than others. I strive to be understanding and patient with all my students during lessons as everyone has different abilities and educational backgrounds. I completely understand the frustration of trying to grasp something and not getting it. Math often feels like that. With all the numbers and variables involved, math can be tedious and overwhelming to many students. This course is aimed at strengthening weaknesses in mathematical foundations and simplifying concepts for better understanding. Topics covered in this course: Pre-algebra Algebra Trigonometry Pre-calculus AP Calculus AB SAT Math Note: Many of these topics overlap with the British GCSE and A-Level Mathematics. If in doubt please contact me. The most efficient way to teach a class is to be prepared in advance, so I have adopted that policy. Please contact me via Apprentus with the topics you want me to cover so that I can prepare them in advance and make the class a fun learning experience!

I am a Grade 7 pianist and have played piano for nearly my whole life! I have also played several other instruments. I also have my Grade 5 Music Theory. Music theory is important for any musician to further understand the instrument they are learning. It is best to start with theory as soon as you can in your music journey. In order to progress past Grade 5 you require the music theory examination. I have played and studied music most of my life and as your tutor I would love to help you gain a further understanding of music and prepare for any music theory exams you may want to sit.

Basic Further Mathematics for Teenagers and Adults
The beauty of mathematics is that it combines precision, logic and creativity to evaluate the relationship between variables that represent events in our daily life and to predict future occurrence through linear and non-linear statistical models. The scope of this class covers aspects of mathematics that explore how logic and numbers can be used in global sectors like tech hubs, hospitals, financial companies and food production firms. At the end of this class, the student would be familiar with how variables can be used to interpret events in real-time and how to design prediction models by observing the state and correlation of variables.

As a teacher with a background in botany, zoology, chemistry, and microbiology, coupled with extensive management experience, I bring a unique perspective to the classroom. My lessons are designed not only to impart scientific knowledge but also to instill essential skills such as critical thinking, communication, and teamwork. Drawing on my management experience, I emphasize the importance of organization, time management, and leadership in scientific inquiry. Whether planning laboratory experiments or coordinating group projects, I provide students with opportunities to develop these skills in a scientific context. Through collaborative activities and role-playing scenarios, students learn to work effectively as part of a team, delegate tasks, and take initiative in problem-solving. In addition to science subjects, I also incorporate lessons on grammar and mathematics into my teaching repertoire. As an expert in grammar and mathematics, I recognize the value of strong communication and quantitative skills in scientific research and analysis. In grammar lessons, I emphasize the importance of clarity, precision, and coherence in scientific writing. Through grammar exercises and writing assignments, students learn to express their ideas effectively and communicate scientific concepts with accuracy and confidence. Similarly, in mathematics lessons, I help students develop quantitative reasoning and problem-solving skills essential for data analysis and interpretation in the sciences. Whether calculating chemical reactions, analyzing biological data, or interpreting statistical results, students learn to apply mathematical concepts in practical scientific contexts. By integrating grammar and mathematics into my science curriculum, I provide students with a well-rounded education that prepares them for success in academic and professional endeavors. Overall, my teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that education should not only impart knowledge but also foster critical thinking, creativity, and lifelong learning. By incorporating management principles, grammar, and mathematics into my science lessons, I aim to empower students with the skills and confidence they need to thrive in a rapidly evolving world. Through engaging activities, interactive discussions, and hands-on experiments, I inspire curiosity, ignite passion, and cultivate a love for learning in every student I teach.
