My name is Benjamin and I am 16 years old. I give guitar lessons and I really enjoy teaching people to play the guitar. I give you as a student the opportunity to choose songs yourself, but of course I also like to inspire my students. I enjoy learning everything from fingerstyle to hard rock. I myself am very much in the rock scene and love artists like The Rolling Stones and Bob Dylan. I would like it if you indicate where you want to grow yourself on the guitar. I teach acoustic and electric guitar, so fortunately you have complete freedom as a student. I teach my lessons physically and online (depends on what works better for you). About Me

Hi,

My name is Benjamin (18 years old) and I come from Uitgeest. I live in central Uitgeest. I have been teaching for a while now and I consider this one of my biggest hobbies! I have been playing guitar for a few years now and I like many different genres and tastes (for example Bob Dylan and The Rolling Stones). And I also really enjoy learning new tastes from my students. Nevertheless, I really appreciate it when students dare to step out of their musical comfort zone and learn other genres. I am a cultural person and also like art, music and politics. I describe myself as calm, curious, enthusiastic, sporty and musical. I am really a people person and I like company and positivity! I keep my lessons quite simple. We have a short chat, but of course we try to use all the lesson time as well as possible. We determine whether it is a request from me or from you and then we go over the playing style, rhythm and learning process. Then of course we practice! I will pay close attention to what can be improved, how you can best practice the material and do my best to convey the music as well as possible. As a student you of course decide for yourself how long you want to spend on a song, riff or lick, so that there is no stress. I would personally appreciate a fixed lesson schedule, since I am not always available. You can always contact me via the site. There are no wrong questions, so if you are struggling with something, please contact me. I will be happy to answer them :) I would like to teach you to play the guitar as a student in the future!

Education

I am currently studying sociology at the Vrije Universiteit. I speak good English, so if you have trouble with Dutch, we can also do the lessons in English. And even if you do not have a guitar available yet, we can make arrangements for that.

I often play with friends, so I am already well experienced with teamwork. I've been playing guitar for 3 years now. I have been taking lessons for 1 year myself and I also like to be inspired by my own teacher. That is how that music sometimes ends up with my own students.

Bass guitar lessons with a holistic, "all-round" character.

We will practice the lessons together and we will use your best songs for this. I believe that if you have deep emotional contact with a piece of music, the learning process will also become faster, cozier and smoother!

Our main themes:

- technique and overview of the bass (where?)
- general music theory, ear training (why?)
- creative improvisation and composition (what?)

I am 21 years old and I am currently a flute student at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. I finished my studies in conservatories in France and obtained a license in music and musicology at the Sorbonne (Paris IV).

The drumset is one of the most important and powerful instruments in a music ensemble. It does not only provide the rhythm and groove foundation for all the other instruments - it also defines the sound of the band, the character of the songs, the volume... just like an orchestra conductor.

If you’re interested in learning the flute and/ or gaining a new understanding of music through harmony, this lesson will provide that for you.

If you choose to, we’ll cover technique, improvisation, reading music, tone control and expression. We’ll also go over the fundamentals of harmony to give you the tools that will help with any other instrument. Your listening skills will also be developed. The Bass guitar lessons are given at all levels from beginners to advanced / professionals. You learn how to play the instrument, with the right attitude and the right technical and theoretical underpinning of everything you want to learn. A somewhat broader music theoretical knowledge can also be taught. Customization is provided to the student's wishes.

The music theory lessons provide insight into how western music theory functions and how it is applied in practice. Exercises are also done to develop the hearing and music theoretical exercises are done on the basis of either piano, guitar or bass guitar. The Guitar (or Piano) lessons are only given at beginners level. During the harpsichord lessons I will introduce or deepen the skills of the pupils by teaching them the main playing techniques, the history of instrument, the beautiful and large repertoire that can be played on the instrument, and especially a structured and fun method which goal is to let the student become more and more independent. During my Theory/composition lessons I will focus on techniques, genres through a method that looks at historical sources. About the lessons

Have you always dreamed of developing your musical talents? Are you an amateur singer or a beginner who would like to learn a few basics to better understand and control your voice? Then you've come to the right place! :)
As an option, I can also give introductory music theory lessons, to help you get to grips with the difficulties of musical language.
This course is aimed at all those who are just starting out or who want to perfect their singing skills, children or adults of all ages and backgrounds. /!\ Lessons will be given in English or French only, at my home in Amsterdam (Osdorp).

Course content

• Breathing exercises (to learn how to manage your breath and master good vocal support)
• Ear exercises (to develop in pitch accuracy and intonation)
• Vocalizing and voice exercises (adapted to the student's level) to warm up and develop a better voice technique
• Repertoire work on arias, songs or other musical pieces (classical or pop music, depending on the student's wishes) on which the student would like to progress
• (as a bonus, if needed) support or introduction to music theory

The musical goal and target level will be decided (under my guidance) on an individual basis in the beginning of our lessons, according to each student's wishes. The aim of this course is whatever suits you best: to improve your level in order to enter musical establishments, to progress in order to surpass yourself, or for the curiosity of discovering new things, or even just for the pleasure of making music!
