I’m a qualified language teacher from Portugal, currently working at a private international English school in Belgium. Alongside my teaching role, I’ve also worked at the international level with stakeholders in Brussels—giving me valuable experience in business, academic, and geopolitical English, especially in professional environments.

Présentation

I'm Lara, a 23-year-old language teacher originally from Portugal and currently based in Belgium. I've been passionate about education for as long as I can remember—starting by helping children with schoolwork when I was still one myself. That early love for teaching naturally led me to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Languages, Literatures, and Cultures.

I currently work at a private English school, teaching children aged 3 to 11, and I’ve also taught adults up to 50+, which has helped me deeply understand how learning needs shift throughout life. From young children to adults, I know how to adapt my methods to help each student succeed.

My teaching is based on full immersion: I speak only the target language during class, though I will, of course, switch languages when necessary. I believe that repetition and routine are key to building real fluency. I also prioritize interactive, experience-based learning through games, audios, visual materials, and hands-on practice, which makes the learning process more enjoyable and effective than traditional, rigid methods.

I recently moved from Portugal to Belgium, and I’m currently pursuing a Master’s in International Studies. My background and experience at the international level, both in the classroom and in professional environments, have helped me develop a teaching style that is flexible, inclusive, and tailored to each student's goals.

Education

- Bachelor’s Degree in Languages, Literatures and Cultures;
- Minor in Translation;
- C2 Level in English with focus on Academic Writing;
-Master’s in International Studies (in progress).

- Over six months of experience teaching English at an international private school, working with children aged 3 to 11 using immersive and interactive methods;
-Internship experience supporting policy communication, content management, and stakeholder engagement at a European-level organization;
-Provided private English tutoring for beginner to advanced students, focusing on developing grammar, speaking, and comprehension skills.
