My name is Richard and I give private lessons to all levels.

For guitar, it is important that you can improve yourself in a pleasant environment in a fun way where your interests are central. Do you want to delve deeper into a certain style? Do you want to create your own sound on your guitar using amps, and pedals, ...? I can help you with all that!
Knowledge of solfège or music theory is not required, we can always discuss this in class if you wish, but that is certainly not mandatory ;)

I have been playing the guitar since I was 9 years old and for several years now I have been playing in professional bands with which I have been able to play on sugar rock, for example.

The lessons would take place at my home in Mol or via webcam. If necessary, we can always agree on something else.

About Me

My name is Richard.

I am a Belgian guitarist studying at the Ghent Conservatory (KASK) and studied sociology at the University of Antwerp.
Besides playing in a wide range of bands, I can be hired as a session musician and I have been teaching guitar for several years (and with pleasure): individually, but also at the music school in Mol.

I've been playing the piano since I was 10. But at the music academy I learned piano in a very scholastic way. We always had to learn scores, which you spend a lot of time on, and once you could do it perfectly, you already had to switch to another piece. I got tired of this and started improvising. I now make my own songs and I prefer to play the piano more than ever before. I would like to share this with other people as well. I do this in combination with solfège, so that everyone has the basics. The lessons consist of 70-80% solfège and piano pieces (I work with piano books) and then we conclude with 20-30% improvisation. Improvisation is experienced by all my students as the most enjoyable part of the lesson.

In my class I offer you different topics such as giving you tips on how to efficiently memorise the music you wanna play, how to understand it and how to extend your skills while staying musical.
Stretching and exercising the muscles around your wrists is something that needs to be considered as HIGHLY RECOMMENDED too. Together we will talk about different variations to straighten your drummer hands without feeling any pain. I want to get the most out of your drumming skills!

We naturally start with an introduction so that I know what you want, what you can do and how we can proceed. Step by step without pressure or rush. I have a nice collection of pieces, both classic and modern, that we can start with and you may already have something in mind that you would like to learn.

I have had private lessons for 11 years and have been playing this very beautiful instrument since I was 7. The lessons are really only a small part of the musical growth. What matters is that you can enjoy the music you create yourself.
