Mijn naam is João, piano en klavecimbel speler.
Ik begon piano te spelen op de leeftijd van 7 jaar oud, en sindsdien werd ik helemaal verliefd op alle toetsenbordinstrumenten en de mogelijkheden van expressiviteit, het duidelijke gevoel van muziek maken, interactie met andere muzikanten, voor mijn eigen plezier, en voor de anderen. Het klavecimbel kwam in mijn leven toen ik 15 jaar oud was. Ik ben absoluut dol op klassieke en barokmuziek en ook op Jazz en Pop.

Ik begon piano te geven toen ik 20 was en ik moet bekennen dat het een grote passie in mijn leven werd!
Ik zie mijn studenten graag verbeteren, kennis maken met verschillende muziekstijlen en gemotiveerd zijn.
Ik ben bekwaam in het lesgeven aan kinderen en volwassenen, beginners of ervaren met de keyboard- en / of muziektheorie.

Daarom gebruik ik verschillende methoden, afhankelijk van de behoeften en verwachtingen van de student. Elke student is speciaal, dus een les kan verschillen, afhankelijk van het niveau van de student. Normaal begin ik met warming-up en technische oefeningen (houding is erg belangrijk!), Een korte contextualisering van de muziektheorie van wat er in de les zal worden aangepakt en vooral, veel plezier en zorgen voor een leuke sfeer tijdens de les.

Ik ben in 2007 afgestudeerd in piano en klavecimbel aan de Federale Universiteit van Rio de Janeiro. In 2012 ben ik afgestudeerd in klavecimbel aan het Koninklijk Conservatorium in Den Haag, waar ik in 2014 mijn masterdiploma behaalde aan dezelfde instelling. doe mijn Ph.D. studies in Podiumkunsten aan de Universiteit Leiden / Orpheus Instituut Gent. Ik geef theoretische muziekstudies aan het Koninklijk Conservatorium in Den Haag en begeleid en coach uiteindelijk studenten van de afdeling Jong Talent Muziek. In 2014 heb ik het barokmuziekorkest Le Concert d'Apollon opgericht, onder leiding van klavecimbel en muziekdirecteur.

Als je bereid bent om piano te leren spelen of door te gaan met studeren, zal het me een genoegen zijn om je te laten zien hoe het leren van een toetsenbordinstrument zoveel kan toevoegen in je leven. Employing the voice in a rhythmical sense is not a granted or obvious approach for singers and is sometimes overlooked by instrumentalists. However, a rhythmical foundation developed through the voice is a core element of strong musicianship for everyone in the music sector.

In these lessons, we will practice rhythm through the understanding and utilization of Konnakol (South Indian Carnatic rhythmical solfege) alongside other techniques and approach different ways to conceive of rhythm and integrate it into performance.

We will work on rhythmical freedom, phrasing, grouping and moving patterns, cross-rhythms, odd measures and different 'feels'. You will acquire new ideas, improve your timing, gain independence in your lines and obtain a set of tools to practice self-sufficiently.

"Rhythm through Voice" is designed for both singers and instrumentalists who want to enlarge their spectrum of techniques, and improve their rhythmical awareness.

The lessons will be custom made for each student.
I will work to adapt to your learning rhythm while keeping you challenged at the same time. You will receive regular feedback, advice, and guidance.

Ik ben blokfluit en student klassieke zang aan het Koninklijk Conservatorium in Den Haag. Ik heb ervaring met het lesgeven in blokfluit aan leerlingen van 4 tot 60 jaar.

Mijn lessen kenmerken zich door een ontspannen sfeer en ik vind het belangrijk om te luisteren naar de wensen van mijn studenten en mijn lessen aan te passen aan hun persoonlijke wensen. Voor de jongere studenten wil ik een combinatie van blokfluittechniek en houding, muziektheorie en zang leren en hun creativiteit op een speelse manier stimuleren. Op deze manier maken ze kennis met alle aspecten van het muziek maken. Ik streef er ook naar om ensemblespel op te nemen in mijn lessen, samen met mij of met andere studenten.

Piano is surely amongst the most interesting instrument in the world for a simple reason: compared to the other instruments that are usually limited to one voice, piano uses the ten fingers at the same time, giving hundreds of possibilities of different voicings and harmony.

I am a French student studying in the Hague. My passion has always been piano. I did 9 years in a French music academy where I finished the entire curriculum. I have been teaching piano to 4 students the two last years in London and I am willing to continue transmitting my passion now that I am in the Hague.

I teach piano to people of all age, without omitting to mention a little bit of music theory so that students get a clear understanding of the instrument they are playing. All this in a fun way! For example, understanding and analyzing how modern tubes and hit songs are made is a fun way to learn music without necessarily using a more conventional method. My students can play whatever music they want, from classical pieces, to jazz themes, all the way to modern tic-toc songs, I always let them play what they want. The most important is to enjoy, this is the really key to progress.

I specialize in teaching piano and music when I was at conservatory where I studied for over 20 years. With 14 years of experience I found my own methods to make my students learn in a comfortable and creative environment. As a teacher who enjoys learning from student while teaching, I know how important this is to improve when growing up. As soon as my students feel safe and happy I let them putting their own ideas in their development. I have a lot of experience in teaching from a young age (4-5) to grown adults but I am very good with kids and I like working with younger ages a lot!
