Involving two of the most beautiful things of humanity - language and culture, this class supports Mandarin learners at all levels and those who are interested in Chinese traditional or modern culture and society. Personalised session content is provided based on the interests and level of the student.
E.g.
For language learner – general Chinses learning session, spoken Chinese session (e.g. informal and formal spoken Chinese words, phrases, formats), specialized pronunciation training session, written Chinses session (character, vocabulary, grammar, style, format, etc.).
For culture discover – ancient Chinese history (general learning, detailed understanding), modern Chinese society insight, discussion of social phenomena in depth.

Hi,
I am a Chinese student just finished my undergraduate and postgraduate study at the University of York. I lived and studied in China more than 20 years, with systematic Chinese edcuation from school. I've also studied and lived in the UK since 2018. As someone embracing both cultures and languages, I can provide trustworthy Chinese learning experience whilst also minimise the cultural gap so that I can easily understand you. I am a big fan of Chinese language and history (especially the Han dynasty) and enjoy discussing social cultures with what I have learned. I would love to show the beauty of my mother language and culture to you and also love to hear from you to have an interesting discussion of our current society. From being a four-year museum volunteer, I also know well how to keep the conversation and entertain you as the participant during our conversation.
