Hi future piano students! I am an Official Steinway and Sons Educational Partner, award-winning pianist who has performed at Carnegie Hall, and won over 40 first prizes in competitions. I have studied and graduated Bachelor's and Master's in piano performance and education at the Academy of Arts Novi Sad, and Florida International University in Miami. I have also had the privilege of studying with many famous professors at the Juilliard School, Royal Academy of Music, Franz Liszt Academy, and many others. I am passionate about teaching piano and helping students of all levels reach their full potential. I believe that everyone can learn to play the piano, and I am committed to providing my students with the tools and support they need to succeed. Welcome to the music class! Here, we are gonna discover the wonders of learning an instrument. From reading note letters, implementing a proper form to sight reading a piece, we are gonna learn in our own pace. If you're just learning music now and it feels like there's a lot to understand, don't worry we're gonna start from the basics. I will help you understand music and its elements. With your dedication and my guidance, I'm positive that we will get a good result!

From my childhood I have been studying music and art: sang in choir and solo, played piano, painted, studied music history and literature, solfeggio. Later in college I have also learned choir conducting, had ensemble and choir singing lessons, cultural studies. During last year in university I had pedagogy practice at university and at private art school (where I worked as a music tutor before the war - piano, voice). I truly enjoyed working with students. They all were different age (8 - 40+ years old) and level. But all were very interesting and work was pleasant. My education was very various: my core subjects were conducting, choir, voice, piano. So it allowed me to work with children, teens and adults with quite wide range of interests and needs: some students needed/wanted to learn particular composition(s), sometimes pop songs arrangements, some were interested in “introduction” to the music, some wanted to renew skills they gained in their childhood and continue their journey to the music world. In addition I prepared presentations (which contained information about cultural and historical background and musical and character/art analysis). So after graduation from choir conducting faculty (which allowed me to deepen my knowledge in many important compatible branches) I concentrated on studying classical singing and piano, expanded my cultural studies and analysis knowledge, practiced solfeggio and harmony.

This course is above all there to make you want to play the guitar, let it be a pleasure! It will be based on the practice of the instrument, on the understanding and role of the guitar. The theory will be based on the progress of the practice. Step by step, practice and theory will thus be complementary, and will necessarily be useful! Learning to play the piano is a wonderful and very diverse experience! Every beginner has to go through it in their own special way in order to realize one's personal aspirations. But sometimes, unfortunately, due to a lack of guidance and direction, the learning process may cause some difficulties followed by unexpected disappointment. If you are in need of said guidance, if your learning experience is not that captivating or satisfying anymore, you don't have to turn away from your dreams of playing the piano - I will gladly help you to get closer to them in a fun and enjoyable way in our lessons! After finishing music school with the highest grades twice as well as a number of additional courses (improvisation, composition, orchestras, etc.) and after honing my teaching skills for more than 4 years, I can safely say that my lessons may prove useful to any type of student with any kind of given objective at hand. No matter your age, your previous experience, or background, you just need to name me your personal goal, task, or even a dream - be ready to dedicate a little time and effort, and I will take care of all the rest. I am a professional pianist offering private piano and theory lessons to students of all levels. As a pianist 12 years of teaching experience and over 21 years of playing, I enjoy motivating my students with music of their own preferred style and interest, whether that be classical or contemporary. My main goal is to promote a positive experience and love for music-making during the course of learning piano. If the student is interested in a more serious approach, I can also guide preparation for grades 1-8 of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) exams. I also have successful experience preparing students for entrance to conservatory and for various competitions. Recently, my students have achieved highest marks in the ABRSM exams as well as prizes in competitions. We also have a class concert for interested students twice per year. I am happy working in both a relaxed and serious approach, we simply need to discuss the objectives of the student. My own studies are as follows: I have obtained two postgraduate degrees at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp: "Concertsoloist" in Piano Performance and "Chamber Music." Prior to this, I received my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Piano Performance/Music from University of Minnesota and TCU-Fort Worth, TX, USA. My experience includes collaboration with many different instrumentalists and singers, performing as soloist with orchestra (also as harpist), and receiving top prizes in several competitions. While maintaining my performance and recording career in Belgium at present, I am developing my private music studio and look forward to meeting new students.

I teach for all levels, from children starting from zero to students who want to prepare certifications at the Conservatories, passing through amateurs or simply curious of any age. I firmly believe in the importance of knowing how to read music and this is exactly what I teach first, obviously adapting the method to the age of my students: knowing how to read music is knowing one more language, which, if learned well, won’t ever be forgotten (like riding a bicycle!) and it is an invaluable wealth. Starting from that point I teach the position of the hand, the arm and the whole body at the piano, the fundamentals of the piano technique (giving great importance to the percussive movement of the finger and the distribution of weight), the understanding of musical language, the expression of the personality through the keyboard, the search for touch and knowledge of piano repertoire.
