Hi! My name is Joana and I am originally from Luxembourg. Growing up in Luxembourg allowed me to be fluent in our three national languages: Luxembourgish, French and German (Native Proficiency).
After graduating from high school with a specialisation in modern languages and humanities, I moved to the United Kingdom to study Journalism. Living in London for over three years allowed me to perfect my written and spoken English. With English being a world language it has become an integral part of our society, especially in work and study related areas. Taking on English lessons with me will help you prepare for any language obstacles you have had up until now. My teaching methods vary from client to client and depend on their current language skills; writing essay type reports for school, reading and understanding the book all your friends talk about, or just to be able to have a fluent conversation, whatever the problem we can work through it together.

I immerse myself in the material that a student has difficulty with, in this case a language and/or a math problem. It is true that I am currently guiding a girl from secondary education with beginners French and German.
But the majority of my tutoring children come from groups 6, 7 and 8 of primary school.

As a student who graduated from the European School, I have gained a lot of knowledge in different languages. Having learnt Greek, German, English, French, and even a bit of Italian, I have become familiar with the ways and mechanisms of teaching a language. I have always been passionate about writing and believe a lot in the importance of writing abilities to help individuals mentally, and the same counts for speaking and reading. Language is a form of self-expression that is of utmost importance to life, and I believe everyone should have the opportunity to learn these skills.

Additionally, as a political science student at the University of Amsterdam, I offer help with history and sociology lessons, having studied both these subjects with a lot of passion for many years.

I am a very patient person and approach these lessons with excitement and a lot of joy, but most importantly, with passion. Seeing people grow in their skills is very important to me, especially seeing how happy they are with themselves.
