I’ve been teaching violin for more than 3 years now to students of different ages and levels. I also love performing in orchestras and chamber music groups. TRIAL LESSON In order to know whether a student is eligible (physically, musically and mentally) for violin lessons, an appointment will always be made for a trial lesson first. During the trial lesson I will get to know the student, I will perform a number of tests (motor and musical), I will check the violin for quality, size (if it concerns children) and completeness, and if the previous matters are in order, I will then give a trial lesson. I will also answer any questions you may have about the lesson conditions. LESSONS PLANNING Although the lesson time is in principle always agreed upon each time, it is preferable that the lesson is held on the same day and time every week. If it concerns a novice student, this is even essential. The reason is that a lot is involved in establishing a good basic violin technique and a good basic technique is essential to continue to progress in the long term. In this phase, a teacher must be able to intervene in a timely manner if things go off the rails. Because a basic learned incorrectly is very difficult to unlearn.
