Maths is a highly useful skill in all areas of life as well as most fields of industry. Maths has been a passion of mine since my school days where I managed to achieve an A at A-level in one year. My focus was mechanics and calculus but my teaching skills extend to all levels of from A-level below. My focus on teaching is to try and bring maths alive with the more fascinating ways in which different areas of maths can conjoin and impact the real world. Why are beehives hexagonal shaped for example? Why do spider webs mimic certain road maps? I've been a chess tutor as well as a maths tutor for some years and enjoy the process of teaching, having taught students as young as 5 all the way up to adults. I'm Lucas, 21, currently a Mechanical Engineering student at Imperial College of London! I obtained a bac S (mathematics option) with first class honors in 2017 before entering preparatory class in Physics. I continued my training by integrating the Centrale Lyon school two years ago before joining Imperial this year. I had many high school and preparatory class students during my two years in Lyon. By basing myself on the methods and the fundamental principles of the courses I helped 4 pupils to obtain their bac with honors. One of my students even went from an 8 average in physics in her first semester before getting 19 on the day of the bac. I operate based on the methods of the different chapters. Too often ignored by teachers, not always understood by students, many exercises are based on the same methods. My goal is for the student to recognize the exercises and their structures which are very similar so that on the day of the test he can say: "This question looks like one that I have already done in exercise, I know how to treat it" I currently live near Hammersmith but I have the possibility of moving to West London.
