Hello! I am Christian, I have studied in Alicante, Düsseldorf and Florence, and I have worked with numerous orchestras throughout Europe and in Uruguay. I have been teaching violin classes for about 10 years and even preparing entrance exams for higher conservatories. I can adapt to the needs of each student and work on enhancing their skills, through technique and musicality.

From reading note letters, implementing a proper form to sight reading a piece, we are gonna learn in our own pace. If you're just learning music now and it feels like there's a lot to understand, don't worry we're gonna start from the basics. I will help you understand music and its elements. With your dedication and my guidance, I'm positive that we will get a good result!

Trained across several European countries, I hold a Bachelor's and Master's degree in performance and have received classes through masterclasses and festivals with renowned international artists from the Berliner Philharmoniker, Nobuko Imai, Morten Carlsen among others. As an orchestral musician, I’ve performed with various national orchestras in Europe, including ensembles based in Belgium, the Czech Republic, Spain, and others. I currently perform actively as both a chamber and orchestral musician. Personalized lessons for all levels – from beginners to advanced. Whether you’re just starting or looking to refine your playing, I offer individually tailored viola and violin lessons adapted to your needs and goals. These lessons are for young and/or inexperienced singers. My lesson plans are tailored towards students' individual goals. For some, this may be learning and embodying an audition song for their school's upcoming theater performance, and for others voice lessons are a first step towards singing healthily in their church choir. In any case, I focus on correcting and building core skills necessary to singing one's best while encouraging and fostering creativity, accountability, and motivation. If considered for a long-term journey towards singing, I will focus particularly on classical techniques to build steady breath control, good posture, and proper vowel and consonant formation. Along with providing repertoire, if the student is ready and wants, there will be opportunities for vocal performance in the Santa Cruz area. I will encourage audio recordings in all lessons to help with future preparations. I will be assigning some homework after every lesson, likely a combination of vocalization exercises, dedicated sheet music practice, and theory homework (if needed). *My first lesson will involve getting to know the student, their goals, and some vocalization to assess vocal level. For singers with minimal/no prior foundational music theory knowledge, I may recommend time from lessons (15-30 minutes) being allocated solely towards foundational music theory learning.

I teach online via Zoom, using software which allows you to see the exact keys I'm playing on my keyboard. My teaching method is to focus on whatever type of music the student loves most, and to build from there. I believe that many people give up their dream of playing an instrument simply because they aren't inspired enough, so my goal is to instill a love for music, whatever that means personally for each individual student. Everyone learns differently and has their own pace and rhythm. I have some students who like to have a regular weekly or biweekly lesson, and others who just get in touch once in a while when they have digested the previous lesson and feel ready to build on it. Whatever the case, I am very flexible and we can figure out what works best for you. A bit about me: Originally honing my skills on the British jazz scene and holding residencies in restaurants and bars around the country, I then went on to tour the world playing on cruise ships, hotels and festivals. I returned to London to complete my master's in jazz piano at the Guildhall School of Music, and during this time performed regularly at Ronnie Scotts, The Vortex and many other venues across the UK. I then spent two years in South America learning about salsa and Cuban music. I now mainly work as a transcriber, writing sheet music for all instruments including full Big Band scores. I have also worked extensively in musical theatre, most recently as musical director for 'Jersey Boys', and on the first US national tour of 'Summer: the Donna Summer Musical'. I also aim to make every student come out of the lesson feeling motivated to carry on learning, and tailor the lessons to what they want to learn and how to achieve their goal. I can also help students prepare for their piano exams and theory exams.
