I have taught privately and at language schools like La Scuola Italiana del Greenwich Village in New York and ItalCultura, the school of the Italian Cultural Institute of Chicago. During the first few lessons I will make sure you have the tools to pronounce and identify all the sounds of the Italian language. This step is essential! And it will make everything easier afterwards. When I teach Italian I try to avoid all the things that I hated as a language student. We will use real songs, real literature, do real conversation and storytelling. When you are engaging all your senses it is easier to keep your mind relaxed and to remember new words. I will customize my materials to your interests, needs and desired pace. And because you are learning from a native Italian you will also learn about Italian culture and history. You will absorb a way of thinking, not just grammar rules. I speak a bunch of languages so I know a thing or two about how tedious language classes can be. My terrifying French teacher in middle school made us repeat the same fake dialogue from a really bad book ad nauseam, over and over and over again. Some of those dialogues are carved in my brain: “Bonjour, je m’appelle Richard Drapeau, je viens du Canada, je suis Canadien...” When I teach Italian I try to avoid all the things that I hated as a language student. Fabian is an excellent tutor. My daughter needed to pass the CCVX and Boswell Beta exams in Chemistry to qualify for admission at a Dutch University after having completed high school in the United States. Fabian was able to explain complex ideas in a simplified manner and created a comfortable learning environment for my daughter to thrive in. He adapted his teaching to her learning style so she was able to really engage with what was being taught. The result was her successfully passing both exams this summer and subsequently being admitted to the university. She is now in her first semester at the university and feeling confident and thankful for Fabian's support in getting her there!

I had my first Italian lesson with Davide on 24/9/21. My first impression was very good because he does a very good assessment before he starts of your level and of your goals and based on that he adopts his learning approach perfectly yo your needs. I give Davide a 5 rating after one lesson and would be very surprised if my view of him will change. On top of his ability as a teacher, he is a very nice and modest person. He knows how to drive a conversation and seems have a lot of patience! Looking forward to the next lesson!
