I am a music teacher with a keen interest on helping my students to develop their musical identities and technical abilities. Learning an instrument can be a fun and rewarding activity at any age, no matter if you want to become a professional musician, or just want to enjoy an artistic leisure activity. Learning music improves coordination, social and emotional skills, and makes us smarter. And music is something everyone needs in their lives, no matter the age, background or profession! I have more than fifteen years of teaching experience. Throughout this time I have met students of very different backgrounds, ages and approaches to the instrument, who have inspired me a lot. For me, teaching is also a part of my lifelong learning of the instrument, which enlightens me every time. Also, being an active performer who is used to face a wide variety of styles makes me a more versatile teacher. According to my own experience and philosophy, the best teacher is the one who teaches you how to become your own teacher. I do my best to follow this approach in my lessons, enhancing the student’s autonomy and own identity. I use a bunch of different methods and resources, which helps me to match the needs, musical taste and level of each student. I like to play a lot with my students from the very beginning, so I can help them to improve their intonation and rhythm in the most efficient way, and we have more fun playing together! A special focus is put on keeping a natural and relaxed body posture while playing, in order to produce an open sound and be able to play with comfort. Also, as you might have noticed by browsing through this website, I am especially fond of baroque music, so if you are too, I will be happy to focus on this repertoire, or even introducing you to the baroque cello. But other styles are most welcome as well! I give guitar and music theory lessons for all ages and levels, from beginner to advanced players. I believe that following a path that best suits the characteristics, tastes, and goals of each student is the best and funniest way to learn an instrument. Each of my lessons is unique and adapted to the student's personality. At first, I usually aim at the acquisition of basic knowledge relating to the instrument. Then, you decide what to learn: from classical guitar to electric or acoustic guitar, from classical music to rock, pop, or folk! For instance, if you want to learn how to play classical music, we are going to work on how to read and interpret a score, acquire a good technique (arpeggios, scales, and control of polyphony) while always focusing on the meaning, the feeling, and the direction of the musical piece. At the same time, if you want to focus on other genres (such as rock, pop, etc...) we are going to work on improving your ear skills, sense of rhythm, and theory knowledge while learning the songs you like the most. In this way, you will be able to learn not only how to play guitar by yourself, but also how to play together with other people, be able to understand the music and play what you really feel and want to play. Of course, nothing stops us from working on different styles of playing at the same time! I am also available for the preparation of the entrance exams to the guitar courses (preparatory courses, Bachelor, Master) of the Conservatory.

In 2017 I got my Trombone Diploma in Greece and since 2018 I have been studying Classical trombone at the Royal Conservatory of the Hague. I've had teaching experience from Greece and here alongside my bachelor's degree i acquired followed the minor in education. Teaching is really a very beautiful and enjoyable process from which both teacher and student learn a lot! I'm very passionate about music, and I'm able to teach you both classical trombone or pop if that's your cup of tea! I'm here to remind everyone that age is just a number and does not mean anything. I have completed a Bachelor of Music at the Australian National University and am now starting my Master of Music at the Koninklijk Conservatorium van Den Haag. I love to share my passion for music with others, and in my lessons you will learn about music that interests you and most importantly, have fun! I have been teaching for six years. I have experience teaching all ages and abilities, in individual lesson environments, group lessons, reed making lessons, small ensemble tutoring, and orchestral tutoring. I have experience with all genres of classical music, and have a strong background in music theory, aural skills, musicology, and composition. Lessons with me will incorporate all skills involved to become a well rounded musician. Some of the highlights of my musical career so far have included being principal oboist and orchestral manager of the Australian National University Orchestra and performing E. Goossens' Oboe Concerto at their 2022 Concerto Gala, playing tutti oboe in the Canberra Symphony Orchestra, principal oboe in the Australian Romantic and Classical Orchestra's Young Mannheim Symphonists Orchestra, and performing in the Olive Trio, a chamber music ensemble consisting of oboe, violin and harp, made up of members of the Canberra Symphony Orchestra. I give lessons in Dutch and English.

We were super happy with Francesca ́s lesson! She is such an amazing musician! Also, she really listened to what we wanted to learn and distilled a very complex music piece into something we, absolute beginners, could learn in a short time. We had a lot of fun during the lesson. I would definitely recommend booking a harp lesson with Francesca ! :)

I can definitely recommend, Michele is patient and pays attention to what you want to learn as a student. We started right away learning a fantastic song I thought would be too hard, but he broke it down in simple terms and I couldn't be happier, it makes learning very enjoyable :) 10/10

Really enjoyed going to lessons with Yiannis. Not only did I become a better player but I was also more motivated to play the trombone. A very good trombone teacher and I would recommend him to any trombone player at any skill level!
