Trusted teacher: Hello, My name is Santiago and I am offering individual and personalized virtual Spanish classes to improve your oral and written communication. The main focus of my classes is on developing fluid and structured communication of the Spanish language, whether to prepare for international exams, to be able to communicate properly in the professional field or to reinforce and maintain previous knowledge of this language. I am a native Spanish speaker from Uruguay, I graduated from Florida Gulf Coast University in the US and studied communication arts for a year and a half in Thailand. While studying communication arts, I had several communication classes, I learned techniques on how to speak better using not only our words, but also our body to help us speak more naturally, calmly and without getting nervous if we blank out or forget. what we wanted to say. During my career in the United States, I constantly wrote essays for my classes, in addition to having to present projects in front of my teachers and classmates. At the same time, I was working at university and after graduating I worked for a year, mainly having long phone conversations with people from all over the country. In recent years I have gained invaluable experience living abroad communicating using my second language. Now, I help others looking to do the same. I help people from all over the world with their Spanish so they can achieve their goals. It could be studying abroad, living in a Spanish-speaking country, improving your communication in the professional field or continuing to practice so as not to lose your previously acquired level. If what you are looking for is to improve your knowledge of the Spanish language, I will help you. My methodology is simple. Each person is different and I adapt the content of my classes to the needs and interests of my students. We all learn in different ways and at different times, that is why I design my classes individually offering a no-obligation trial lesson to see the best way to achieve your goals.

I’m a qualified English teacher with 10+ years of experience from the UK, who moved to Stockholm last month. I majored in English Literature at university and had a year studying Linguistics alongside this, so I’ve studied and taught a variety of subjects within the broader umbrella of ‘English’. I don’t know Swedish, but for face-to-face lessons I can help students with English homework, with any writing, and offer conversation to improve their speaking. Over 10 years I’ve taught 14-18 year-olds, and 19+ adults who had English as a second language, so I’ve experience of teaching a wide variety of skill levels and types of students. For online teaching, I can teach UK students for their GCSEs or even A-Levels. I have a lot of experience working with students with Special Educational Needs, so I excel at tailoring learning to meet the needs of students, whatever their academic ability. I make my lessons interactive and engaging in subject matter, with a strict focus on achieving specific aims based on exam criteria. Language is a skill which needs practice, so all lessons include speaking & listening, reading & writing, with time to reflect, correct and improve being of paramount importance. Lessons are 1-2 hours, to enable time for assessment, feedback and implementation of feedback. I will work with any student aged 11+. I can teach with a focus on preparation for a specific exam series, e.g. IB Diploma Literature/Language and Literature; I can help develop a particular skills area such as creative writing or speaking in academic presentations; I can offer help with homework and understanding set texts or quirks of the language; I can even build skills in higher-level punctuation, grammar, editing and proofreading. As shown in my varied career path, I am flexible and will work with students to adapt lesson resources and teaching methods to meet their needs.

rating green star
Thao is an excellent teacher: energetic and patient, encouraging always and cheerful. She's great both with kids and adults (she teaches both me and my son). She gives honest and helpful feedback and clear explanations. I'm improving my practice in a way I couldn't have done by myself. And my son's motivation to play the piano is coming back thanks to Thao's good teaching skills, with the right dose of humour.
