French GCSE can be challenging for a variety of reasons: tricky vocab, little time spent on irregular verbs at school and extremely particular pronunciation.
I'm here to meet your French GCSE needs. As a private tutor in French and Latin with over 400 hours of experience both in person and online I have raised students' achievements by two grades with practice in pronunciation and meticulous attention to the learning of grammar. As a speaker of four languages I make references between French and other languages to make learning no slog but a memorable hour (or two).

Bonjour, I'm Sophia - and I'm here to reassure you French is hardly scary!
I am a committed tutor of Latin and French with a wealth of experience that's spanned over three and a half years (more than 400 hours of teaching experience both face-to-face and online).
As a tutor it's my foremost mission to instil in students an unflappable command of grammar, a familiarity with Francophonic idioms and an attachment to both literature and cinema. Learning to pronounce correctly constitutes a greater portion of my lessons than it does in the majority of teachers’.
In addition to these, my knowledge of Latin, Ancient Greek, Italian and some Spanish gives me ample opportunity for the comparison of languages: a facet that my students always find appealing and relatable.
Did you know the word for money in French ("argent") comes from the Latin word for silver, "argentum"? And that this is the reason Argentina is so called?
I provide linguistic trivia and more in classes I can promise you will be engaging and informative and never boring. We can set them at a leisurely or fast or moderate pace.
