About Me
A qualified pianist and musicologist, I began learning piano in 1994 and have taught it continuously since a young age, on the recommendation of my teachers.
From the beginning of my practice, I trained in all genres (classical, popular, jazz, contemporary, film music, etc.) and through all methods (score, grid, by ear or improvised) by numerous renowned teachers.
Today a pianist, but also a multi-instrumentalist, musicologist and composer, I teach piano using a personal method developed over years of practice, reading, meetings and daily research.
Throughout my musical career, which now spans three decades, I have had the opportunity to follow the teachings of many renowned musicians.
I further deepen my knowledge by participating in private and group masterclasses, training cycles, symposia, conferences, as well as through research within the framework of public (especially associative and university) and private projects.
My passion for teaching has driven me for several decades and has allowed me to successfully train many generations of students from all backgrounds.
Born from my own rich personal journey, encompassing several years of experience, encounters, and research, my approach to music and its pedagogy is holistic, considering both body and mind. My lessons will address both the objective aspects of learning and the more subjective dimension.
I consider music a universal language, a total art form that engages all the senses and reaches everyone. This applies even more to the musician, who is simultaneously the architect of sound, the performer, the creator... and the first listener of the music they create. Just as knowing how to read and write is not simply a matter of rewriting someone else's text (that's what printers and computers are for), music cannot be reduced to the constant performance of popular works that are repeated over and over. Like spoken language, music evolves and is continually renewed throughout the centuries and according to the whims of those who immerse themselves in it.
The first lessons will allow us to get to know the student better and assess their level, needs, abilities, and strengths/weaknesses.
Since each student is different, learning will be gradually personalized as specific needs or gaps to be addressed are identified.
