Have you always wanted to play the piano, but you tell yourself you are not really “musical,” not talented enough, or that it is too late to start? Or maybe you played a long time ago and would like to come back to it, but you do not feel comfortable, your technique feels shaky, and you lack confidence.

This is very common for adults. Most of the time, what holds people back is not a lack of talent, but a lack of method:

- you do not know what to practise, so you feel like you are not progressing

- coordinating both hands feels complicated at first

- reading music and music theory can feel intimidating

- you tense up easily, and it feels like “it doesn’t sound good”

- you start, you stop, and motivation drops because it feels like too much effort

My role is to make piano clear, accessible, and enjoyable, with a precise plan and simple steps. The goal is for you to be able to sit at the piano and play real music with confidence:

- to enjoy playing at the end of the day

- to play a few pieces for your partner or friends

- to finally learn the music you love

In practice, we move forward with a calm, progressive, and very practical method:

- build solid technique, without tension or stiffness

- improve rhythm and coordination step by step

- learn to read music at a realistic pace, with simple and useful reference points

- work on pieces you enjoy, with arrangements adapted to your level

- set up a short, effective practice routine that fits a busy schedule

You will always know what to practise, how to practise it, and what matters most. Many adults progress faster than they expected, because we focus on what is essential and avoid wasted effort.

I have a Master’s degree from the Royal Conservatory of Liège and I achieved ABRSM Level 8. I have three years of teaching experience, and I adapt each lesson to your goals, your level, and your pace.

About Me

Hi, I’m Nicolas. I specialise in teaching adults who feel they are not “musical” or who are coming back to piano after many years. If you want to play for yourself, for family, or for friends, but you feel unsure about your technique or you do not know where to start, this is exactly what we work on.

My lessons are calm, structured, and very practical. You do not need talent or a “musical background.” You need a clear method and the right exercises. I break things down into small steps so you can see progress quickly and enjoy the process.

What you can expect:

- Learn to play real pieces, not only drills

- Improve rhythm and coordination without feeling overwhelmed

- Build confidence at the keyboard, even if you are starting from zero

- Develop a simple practice routine that fits a busy life

Many adult students are surprised by how much they can play in a short time when the plan is clear. If you can practice a little, consistently, you can make progress sooner than you think.

Education

I hold a Master’s degree from the Royal Conservatory of Liège. I also achieved ABRSM Level 8. This training supports a clear, technical, and musical approach, adapted to each student.

Experience / Qualifications

I have three years of teaching experience. I design personalised programs based on your goal and your schedule. For adults, this often means rebuilding foundations gently, improving hand coordination, rhythm and reading, and learning pieces you actually want to play.

My teaching style is supportive and direct. I will tell you what matters most, what to practice, and how to practice it efficiently, so you do not waste time or get stuck.

Being highly skilled in sight-reading, I have often realized how valuable and enjoyable it is to possess that “gift.” After more than ten years of teaching students of different levels and aspirations, I have observed a common thread: regardless of their goals, all were eager to improve their ability to read and interpret new, unfamiliar music.

Currently, I am developing a multifaceted approach designed to help students understand a composition at first sight. This method combines specific pattern recognition and structural score-mapping, anchored in a fundamental understanding of rhythm, pitch, and harmony, together with highly effective practice and memorization strategies personalized to each student's needs and technical challenges.

For over ten years, I have been teaching students of all ages and levels. In addition to regular lessons, I offer the opportunities to perform at the yearly class concert as well as dedicated preparation for ABRSM piano examinations.

I'm a pianist with extensive performing experience on international stages and a first-prize winner of more than 30 international piano competitions across Europe and USA. I hold a Master's degree and four Postgraduate degrees (piano and chamber music) from the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel.

I am offering personalized Piano sessions (indeed interactive sessions and not just lessons) for various age groups and levels in 5 languages (English, Russian, Czech, Spanish and German).

For your ease, I have tried to summarize all necessary information in below points:

Who I am?

I had a great interest in music since my childhood and I knew that its the only way for me. I am a classical pianist with 17 years of experience. I am graduate of Prague Conservatory and Conservatory Jsroslav Jezek, from where I obtained the college degree. I am as well alumni of Conservatori Liceu (Barcelona, Spain). After two years of BA music degree at Consrvatori Liceu, I switched to Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel, where I am pursuing my university degree currently.

During my tenure I have participated in many competitions, such as The Wiener Klassik International Competition in Vienna, Sergei Prokofiev's International Piano Competition in Prague, International Piano Competition in Cøpenhagen, Györ and many more.
Also, I am active as a concertmaster. Some of the highlights are, concerts in Belgium(Brussels, Namur), Prague, Cøpenhagen, Vienna, Györ, Barcelona, Badalona and Nürnberg. Furthermore I am an active chamber musician.

I am giving private lessons since 2013.

Hi! I’m Lucia, classical cellist from Madrid. I studied with international te known teachers as N. Shakhovskaya and D. Geringas, and I was working in Spain with the Spanish Radio TV orchestra, Spanish National Orchestra, OSPA, and contemporary music ensemble Plural Ensemble. Also I have teaching experience since 12 years, having worked privately and in Centro Superior Katarina Gurska.

Lessons in piano, harpsichord, and historical and modern cello, with program and repertoire, adapted to the goals and speed of each student, whether young, not so young, or adult, for a general introduction to these instruments, for preparation for high music education, as a supplementary aid for exams in music academies, or for a hobby, or for amateur group music-making, or for developing qualities as concentration, coordination, discipline, expressibility, awareness of styles and music history.
In my teaching, I rely mostly on old traditional methods, books, and repertoire, which have proved their efficiency over the time. I also make use of the teaching tradition of partimenti of the old Neapolitan conservatories - exercises for composing that can be applied from early stage. This not only adds a creative element soon after very beginning, but also teaches via practice the basics of harmony and polyphony.
Lessons can be combined (+30min.) with theory/solfege (ear training), if the student wishes.

My name is Anaïs and I am a final year master's student in classical piano at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels.

Since childhood, I have been immersed in the world of classical music, which has always had a profound impact on me. I have been fortunate to benefit from the teaching of high-quality private teachers, alongside my training in music theory, which has allowed me to participate in numerous concerts in Belgium and abroad.

Even today, I continue my training with internationally renowned teachers during masterclasses, while enriching my experience through competitions and concerts.

After 17 years of playing the piano, my passion remains intact and I would be delighted to share it with you.
My specialty remains classical music, the field in which I feel most comfortable and where I can passionately share my knowledge with you. However, having studied harmony and harmonic writing during my piano studies, I can also accompany you in your own creations or improvisations.

My method is based on a freer and less academic approach than that of music theory for those who wish to develop their musical ear without prior classical knowledge (Although we will do a little bit of it anyway but in a simplified way). You will discover that it is not necessarily necessary or obligatory to know how to read a score to play music. A lot of professional musicians (Paul McCartney for example) do not know how to read notes!

I will help you get familiar with harmony and rhythm. We will learn how to compose simple and then more complex melodies and chords in all their various forms with the right hand. And we will also see how to accompany with the left hand. We will do all this from a piece of your choice (whether classical or modern that we will play in a simple way and then enrich it step by step!
