Drawing on 16 years of experience in medicinal chemistry in pharmaceutical research, I offer private tutoring in physics-chemistry, biology-geology, and mathematics for middle and high school students. About Me

Passionate about science communication, I spent 16 years in pharmaceutical research, specializing in medicinal chemistry. I now wish to use my knowledge and pedagogical approach to support students who find science subjects challenging.

My teaching method combines clear explanations, real-life examples, and, whenever possible, small hands-on experiments, making scientific concepts more accessible and intuitive. My name is Valentin and I have a master's degree in Physics from ENS Lyon. In 2017 I became the youngest medalist at the International Physics Olympiad. Currently I am doing my doctoral studies in Basel. My scientific approach favors above all the in-depth understanding of concepts rather than the simple learning of the laws of physics by heart. I have experience solving very complex problems in physics and mathematics, where just knowing the formulas is not enough. It is by grasping the deeper meaning of these formulas that we can effectively apply them in a broader context and thus facilitate the search for solutions.

I start by doing a short assessment of the student's level, followed by identifying their main difficulties in the subject. Then I explain difficult concepts in detail and show how I would approach different problems through concrete examples.
