My in-home piano lessons follow a solid method forged by extensive teaching experience. I strive to tailor your journey to your dreams: mastering the classics from Haydn to Liszt, simply accompanying your voice, jazz/blues improvisation, etc. By default, my method is structured in two distinct parts addressed together or separately: - CLASSICAL PIANO: the teaching method adopted here corresponds to that provided at the conservatory. Music scores have a fundamental importance. This requires learning music theory using several supports: one dedicated to reading notes in isolation, an application also dedicated to this work and a practical manual. Technique is also important for the good practice of classical music pieces, which is why you follow a whole progression of exercises designed to make you work on articulation, velocity, precision of touch. If the classical repertoire is demanding and rich, we can also play more popular music: films, video games, variety, ... PIANO JAZZ/BLUES/POP/VARIETY We work to make you a proactive player in your musical journey. This generally comes after a classical piano course. However, not everyone necessarily has the time or the desire to achieve excellence, especially for adult beginners or even more advanced players. You choose the music covered and develop your ear and your knowledge of the keyboard (simple concepts of harmony at the same time). The repertoire corresponds to current music. We can even move towards improvisation and improvement in this area for students already introduced to jazz or bues in particular. Intimidating and then quickly liberating, this approach allows you to develop a creative and personal musical practice. You are then able to improvise, compose, or even play with other musicians. This approach is based around 4 main axes.

- I listen to the student's needs and adapt to their requests without being too rigid on a particular method. -I can approach a very classic and rigorous method from the conservatory if necessary, or be very flexible and approach all subjects or styles, going through the bases of composition or improvisation, classical or more variety/song. -My courses are aimed at all types of people. - I can also tackle Songwriting!

My job is to help through courses, singers, actors and musicians to develop their vocal and / or musical skills through singing, piano jazz, writing, composition and music theory in Paris.

Hello everyone ! It is never too late to start the piano :) I teach you how to read American notes, learn chords, rhythm (work with a metronome), pedal, all in order to play with sensitivity the song of your choice. I start the first lessons with arpeggios, which promotes finger mobility and learning notes. Subsequently, we can work with Yann Tiersen (such as "La dispute", "nursery rhyme from another summer" or even "Porz Goret"). From the first lesson you will leave knowing how to play a song! The key is not to rush, work on the metronome and read the notes well. Possibility to sing at the same time. Thereafter, once the major / minor, flat chords are known and you start to familiarize yourself with the piano, I start each session with 20min of music theory (extremely important for reading classical notes). Little by little, we will move towards more complex composers such as Chopin or Mozart (such as Fantasia in D minor by Mozart, Nocturne in C minor by Chopin).

My name is Aurélien. Admitted to the entrance examination at the National Conservatory of Music and Dance of Paris in 2015 while having started the piano at the age of 12, I gradually developed a unique method to progress effectively and reach a professional level in just a few years of practice. Its effectiveness has been proven for 2 years by my many students, whom I accompanied with passion in their beginning as in their preparation for conservatory competitions. My method is for adults as well as children. It is based on: 1) Ear education and physical relaxation, to learn in a natural way and not lose sight of the pleasure of playing and listening 2) The fundamentals of Harmony to finally understand how the pieces are built, and manage to learn them ten times faster than if you had learned mechanically note after note. I teach for all levels, from children starting from zero to students who want to prepare certifications at the Conservatories, passing through amateurs or simply curious of any age. I firmly believe in the importance of knowing how to read music and this is exactly what I teach first, obviously adapting the method to the age of my students: knowing how to read music is knowing one more language, which, if learned well, won’t ever be forgotten (like riding a bicycle!) and it is an invaluable wealth. Starting from that point I teach the position of the hand, the arm and the whole body at the piano, the fundamentals of the piano technique (giving great importance to the percussive movement of the finger and the distribution of weight), the understanding of musical language, the expression of the personality through the keyboard, the search for touch and knowledge of piano repertoire.

Welcome to my piano teaching studio! I am a professional pianist offering private piano and theory lessons for students of all levels. As a pianist with over 14 years of teaching experience in Europe and the USA, as well as over 23 years of playing/performing, I enjoy motivating my students with music of their own preferred style and interest, whether that be classical or contemporary. My main goal is to promote a positive experience and love for music-making during the learning process. If the student is interested in a more structured approach, I guide preparation for grades 1-8 of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) piano and music theory exams where my students consistently receive highest marks. I also have successful experience preparing students for conservatory entrance auditions, masterclasses, and competitions in the Europe, the USA, India, and Canada. We have class concerts at Pianos Maene for interested students twice per year. I am happy to provide either a more relaxed or a serious approach to learning piano, we simply need to discuss the personal goals and preferences of each student. My own studies are as follows: I have obtained two postgraduate performance degrees at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp: "Concertsoloist" in Piano Performance and "Chamber Music” (under the guidance of esteemed professor Sergei Edelmann). Prior to this, I received my Bachelor and Masters degrees in Piano Performance/Music from the University of Minnesota - Minneapolis (with Prof. Lydia Artymiw) and Texas Christian University, Fort Worth (with Dr. Tamas Ungar). My experience includes collaboration with many different instrumentalists and singers, performing as a soloist and collaborative member in several orchestras, and receiving top prizes in several competitions. While maintaining my performance and recording career in Belgium at present, I am developing my private music studio in central Antwerp and look forward to meeting new students.

I am a Spanish pianist and composer (MMus graduate from Codarts Rotterdam in both directions) with many years of teaching experience, and also very active in performing in various contexts.
