Daniel is a music director and pianist with a unique and varied musical background. In high school, Daniel began his professional career accompanying musical theatre productions, before working as a répétiteur for the Seattle Opera Company’s Young Artists Programs. In 2013, Daniel moved to Montreal to study piano at the Schulich School of Music. Over the next six years, he was very active as an accompanist and music director for several musical theatre productions, a jazz pianist for many bands in the city, a composer and leader of his contemporary jazz trio, which won 3rd place at the 2017 Conad International Jazz Competition, and the co-founder and music director of an independent contemporary opera company. As a ballet pianist, Daniel trained at the École Supérieure de Ballet du Québec and has since worked with Pacific Northwest Ballet, Northern Ballet, and the Australian Ballet. Since returning to Seattle in 2020, he has worked with The 5th Avenue Theatre, one of the most prestigious musical theatres in the United States, as a pianist, music director and vocal coach. Recently relocated to Paris, he currently holds a position as pianist at the Paris Opera Ballet.

Growing up in the musical world, with a drummer father and a singer mother, Music is an integral part of my life. After several volunteer projects, I was spotted at Disneyland Paris for larger projects (8000 people per evening). I then obtained a certification as a "Singer in Current Music", with an impressive result of 49.63 out of 50. My last Gala was that of the "Pièces Jaunes" for Mrs. Brigitte Macron. I am also a Vocal Coach, from child to adult. All levels. We work on intonation, emotion, musicality and pronunciation (songs in several languages). My teaching method? As far as singing is concerned, we will work on pronunciation and accent, the formation of vowels and consonants specific to English, and the correction of tonic accents. We will consolidate your interpretation together from a deep understanding of the song lyrics. Finally, I propose to assist you in writing in order to ensure the grammatical meaning as well as the poetic meaning of your texts, so that they gain in quality. In my class you can learn to sing and accompany you playing the piano or the guitar. Course of a typical course: -30 min of piano / guitar -20 min of singing -10 min of vocals and guitar / piano But it is possible to choose only one discipline or two and to apprehend the course in a different way. Under 6 years old the child will first learn to play or sing separately.

My classes are different depending on your level and age. With children from 7 to 12, we start by doing easy vocalization and start training the ear with intonation, we then have fun singing your favorite songs. With teenagers, I also start with some vocalization, a little more elaborate. Depending on the student's capabilities, we start establishing a comfortable range for them and then proceed to singing. For my older students ideally, I divide our lesson into 2 sections. We work on respiration and how the diaphragm works. We do scales and arpeggios and work on intonation. We then proceed to singing and putting into practice our technique. Some students might need more technique before they actually sing, I like to take things slowly and make sure the student feels confident and comfortable singing. I’m Elena, I’m Italian and I’m an opera singer, currently actively performing in the contemporary field :) On top of my artistic career, which is now 20+ years old, I have 10 years of solid everyday experience in the musical teaching field, with particular regards for online teaching. My specialties are: teaching opera voice and kids’ vocality. For both of these, any level, even absolute beginner is 100% welcome! I’ve been training children and teens ever since I graduated from my position at La Scala children choir at 18 years old. I love working with kids, and it warms my heart to think of how many little faces I have already had the privilege of meeting thanks to this career. I have helped so many access to the children choirs of their respective cities, and with so many many others I have simply participated in their musical learning journey, which makes me equally proud and happy. Teaching adults is a completely different matter, of course, but it’s probably even more thrilling to me because it allows me to spend the day navigating the fascinating routes of lyrical singing technique. These lessons are for young and/or inexperienced singers. My lesson plans are tailored towards students' individual goals. For some, this may be learning and embodying an audition song for their school's upcoming theater performance, and for others voice lessons are a first step towards singing healthily in their church choir. In any case, I focus on correcting and building core skills necessary to singing one's best while encouraging and fostering creativity, accountability, and motivation. If considered for a long-term journey towards singing, I will focus particularly on classical techniques to build steady breath control, good posture, and proper vowel and consonant formation. Along with providing repertoire, if the student is ready and wants, there will be opportunities for vocal performance in the Santa Cruz area. I will encourage audio recordings in all lessons to help with future preparations. I will be assigning some homework after every lesson, likely a combination of vocalization exercises, dedicated sheet music practice, and theory homework (if needed). *My first lesson will involve getting to know the student, their goals, and some vocalization to assess vocal level. For singers with minimal/no prior foundational music theory knowledge, I may recommend time from lessons (15-30 minutes) being allocated solely towards foundational music theory learning.

I am an Italian soprano, graduated from the Dutch National Opera Academy. I work as a soloist as a freelance singer, and I teach singing to students of different levels and ages for many years. The most important thing during my lessons is to help the student find a healthy and comfortable way of singing! During the first part of the lesson, we will focus on Technique and breathing, while during the second part of the lesson we will focus on the repertoire chosen together with the student, applying the aspect of the technique that we worked on previously in the lesson.
