I give guitar lessons in the Lausanne region! Coming from EJMA and HEMU schools, I had the chance to benefit from more than 13 years of practice with this instrument and offer personalized, creative and fun training. Beginner, intermediate or advanced, I can pass on the knowledge and practice necessary for a fulfilling musical life to you! Fresh from the benches of the Haute Ecole de Musique de Lausanne (HEMU), graduated with a Bachelor of Arts, I also have a solid stage experience acquired through more than 500 concerts given throughout Europe. Guitarist, keyboardist, author, producer, remixer, I took pleasure in sharing my knowledge through several years of individual or group teaching and pay particular attention to the fiber of each person with whom I work.

The 5 string banjo is an amazing instrument. It's driving trademark sound and it's African roots has contributed to many music traditions, including Country, Bluegrass, Blues, Jazz and world music. In my class you'll first learn the basics, how to hold and pick and read tablatures. We'll then go through how to play a tune, accompany other instruments and finally, improvise. During the year I'll teach you basic music theory like rhythm, harmony and a bit of ear training to help you develop your understanding and relationship to the instrument. We'll mainly play Bluegrass Scruggs style at first, then we'll dive into melodic style and sigle string, that will all be useful for playing other kinds of music, like Irish music, Pop, Jazz or Blues. I am a guitarist and offer classical guitar lessons for beginner to medium for children of all ages! The goal would be to discover the world of the guitar by first learning the basics, then applying them to learning an easy piece to start! I try to base my pedagogy on the musical tastes of the students while making them discover, by listening or playing, other musical currents. Hello, my name is Bastien and I am 22 years old! I have been playing guitar since I was 11, as well as bass and piano for a few years, and I compose and produce music. I teach for all levels, from children starting from zero to students who want to prepare certifications at the Conservatories, passing through amateurs or simply curious of any age. I firmly believe in the importance of knowing how to read music and this is exactly what I teach first, obviously adapting the method to the age of my students: knowing how to read music is knowing one more language, which, if learned well, won’t ever be forgotten (like riding a bicycle!) and it is an invaluable wealth. Starting from that point I teach the position of the hand, the arm and the whole body at the piano, the fundamentals of the piano technique (giving great importance to the percussive movement of the finger and the distribution of weight), the understanding of musical language, the expression of the personality through the keyboard, the search for touch and knowledge of piano repertoire.
