I specialize in teaching music theory and piano, especially for songwriters, drawing from my background of classical piano, my MA in songwriting, and my career as a published singer/songwriter. I assign creative exercises as homework, and I try to not let any question unanswered!

For instrumentalists, we will look at the piano and some of its different techniques - classical, jazz, accompanying yourself, with focus on what the student actually wants to learn.
For songwriters, we will go through music theory basics, and then basic harmony until we will be able to construct own our songs.

My name is Aoibheann, I am originally from Ireland but have been living in London almost 2 years. I am a piano teacher who has studied piano for over 12 years. I have studied Grade 8 Piano and Music Theory. I have also studied at an undergraduate level in Music. I have a patient, fun, and enthusiastic approach to teaching, having taught adults and children it is vital to create a safe environment built on mutual respect.
My main interests in teaching is helping students create a love for playing and nurturing that through playing pieces they will love. The Kodaly Method is an extremely successful way to learn musicianship; initially with the instrument you are born with (your voice!!)

Kodály's concepts are based on teaching, learning and understanding music through the experience of singing, giving direct access to the world of music with the most universal instrument. The Kodály approach to music education is student centered and skills are taught in a logical, sequential manner.

These can be individual lessons, as a part of your instrumental training or taken as a separate class.
If there are enough students, we will offer a group class and reduce the rate per person.

Hey! My name is Seán, and I am an Irish singer-songwriter based in London with 2 years of teaching experience. I teach a range of disciplines, including piano, guitar, vocals, songwriting, and music theory.
