Are you struggling to absorb content because you're not sure if you need to know it for your exam? I'm a Biology Undergrad teaching GCSE/ Nat5 science students in person or online. In my lessons, we focus on a combination of explaining concepts and practice questions, with an exam-focused style, so you know what you need to know and enjoy learning it.

My lessons are very specific to the students needs, so it would be best if the student came with areas to work on or material to go over (for example, some excercises done in school that the student struggled with). If the student doesn't have any of these, materials can be provided to find what to work on, however this does slow down the process.

In my experience, a combination of explaining concepts and practice questions acheives the best results, so this is the framework my lessons are built off of, with the specifics to be determined depending on the student.

Hi! I`m a Biological Sciences student at the University of Edinburgh. I`m from England and am tutoring GCSE level sciences and Maths. I sat my A levels in Maths, Biology, Physics and Chemistry. I love teaching and helping students get the most out of themsleves and their studies. My philosophy is centred around identifying students' weaknesses and working on them, trying to improve learning habits as well as make them aware of the resources available to them, with the end goal of making the student more independant.

Problem solving and techniques for Mathematics: Nat 5 ,Higher level
Problem solving is a key transferable life skill applicable to all fields, especially Mathematics.It is important students master these foundations which act as building blocks supporting further progression in learning. I aim to help students build vital confidence enabling them to tackle any unseen problem thrown at them.This is particularly important when it comes to high-pressure and time-constraint examinations. In this class, I will go through topics students struggle with, providing alternative approaches I have personally learned over the years. I will also teach useful exam techniques so that students can enter examinations confident and well-prepared. Once a concept has been covered, we will go through additional questions to reinforce understanding of the topic. I am friendly and approachable former student who has picked up several tips and tricks over the years, excited to these with younger students. Having worked with kids before, I am confident in my ability to relate to the frustrations of tackling hard new concepts, and break things down in legible ways. Ultimately, I am motivated to inspire an excitement for problem-solving, like my own, and foster kids’ enthusiasm in maths.
