I am a devoted teacher with 25 years of experience tutoring a wide range of ages and abilities, from young children to adults and from beginners to advanced players. My approach is one of flexibility, taking into account the aims and abilities of each individual and tailoring lessons to suit the student's needs, whether they are preparing for exams, performances or just playing as a hobby. I always strive to make lessons an enjoyable and inspiring experience. I also teach improvisation techniques as a doorway into exploring creative playing outside of the traditional classical method of studying. This is integrated into the firm technical foundation of my mainly classical training and can help give learners another dimension to their playing which can enrich and enliven their approach to whatever kind of repertoire they are studying. I am always eager to share my experience and knowledge with students looking for direction in pursuing a future career in music. Being a performer and teacher has been a positive experience and opened many doors. I want to continue to spread this positivity by sharing my experiences and love of music with my students.
