Hi, I'm Heewon from South Korea. I'm a graduate of the HKU Conservatory's Jazz & Pop department, majoring in jazz piano, though alongside that, I've continued studying classical piano, as well as composition and arranging. For over 6 years, I've taught students ranging from young children (6 to 7 years old) to adults in their 50s and beyond, covering genres from jazz and pop to classical and new age, along with music theory. I've also performed extensively in both South Korea and the Netherlands, at festivals, jazz bars, and government related events, playing not only jazz standards but my own arrangements and original compositions. I believe music is something we simply can't live without today. It surrounds us everywhere we go, woven into daily life. That's exactly why piano makes such a wonderful hobby: it's approachable, deeply rewarding, and a great way to relieve stress. How amazing is it to be able to play the music that lives in your head? My lessons are open to all skill levels and are held in English or basic Dutch. Before we begin, I always start with a consultation to understand what you want out of piano, your goals, interests, and preferred style, and build lessons and materials around that. Tailor made lessons suited to your level and goals: - For beginners, we'll cover basic piano technique, fundamental music theory, and sheet music reading. - For intermediate and advanced students, lessons are shaped around your specific needs and wishes (for example improvisation, accompaniment, arranging, and more). Singing in French is no easy task, but as a native speaker and opera singer, I can help you! We work on pronunciation together, first working on spoken text: getting acquainted with the French sounds and accent and working on how to make sure it sounds French even to a native French! When that's working well, we apply it to the singing. If you want to practice on your own, I can record the text for you. I can also help with you with the translation of a piece or questions you may have about a certain word, a saying or the subtext of a piece.

Hi! I've been playing piano since I'm 6 years old. Over than 14 years I took classical lessons from 2 different piano virtuosos. Depending on your own set of goals, we can study classical or/and contemporary styles without compromising from technical study. Let’s begin your musical journey! Perhaps this is the first time you are playing an instrument? Or you are picking it up having played it years ago. Perhaps you have a dream of where or what you would like to play...or want to improve specific skills to simply enjoy playing more. I offer 30-minute instrumental lessons – these are aimed at beginner students to build stamina, posture and basic playing techniques. You can combine this with an additional 30 minutes of musicianship, this is for children to build a solid foundation of musical skills –including rhythm, note reading and pitch, composition, tempo and more. Group lessons are possible for beginner players, these can be a fun and motivating way of learning together for students, however these would be regularly reviewed to ensure learning needs of each student are met. I would recommend 60-minute lessons for intermediate student/adult students – this is to work on more complex musical skills, exercises and pieces.
