Passionate pianist and stylist gives PIANO lessons at home, all levels, all styles

Translated by Google. Click to view original.
For all ages, all styles, all levels, play the piano with pleasure and at your own pace. It is possible to play classical, neo-classical, pop, rock, swing, or any other style desired.
For beginners, teaching the fundamentals of music theory is possible, in a fun way, with the aim of being able to read the chosen score.
My methodology is the same as the one I use in my work: listening, support, sharing, communication, kindness, adaptability.
What matters most is the desire and the pleasure of making music.

About me:
Passionate about music, piano and singing, I have been playing the piano since I was 6 years old. A former student of the Lyon Conservatory and musicology, I still practice music daily, particularly in duos or trios with two guitarists, and also in a group singing collectively.
During my early years, I taught children and adults, both beginners and intermediate. From this came the desire to transmit, to share, to listen to the desires and needs of each apprentice pianist.
For several months now, I have taken up this vocation again, at home with my own upright piano, as well as at the students' homes.

My work as a fashion stylist has also allowed me to support around a hundred interns, freelancers or employees, aged 13 to 30 and to strengthen my adaptability and inclusive communication. A teaching training in London to consolidate this knowledge.

Fashion designer since 2005 and wedding dress designer since 2009. Specializing in flou (lace, silk, in short, materials that slide), you can benefit from my expertise for your projects: creation of small pieces, clothing and even your wedding dress! I can assist you from A to Z, that is to say, from the inspiration and styling part, to the pattern making, modeling, cutting, assembly, fitting, alterations, modifications, etc. I help you get familiar with the different tools, whether it's the flat bed stitcher, the overlocker, the type of scissors, the Japanese ruler, or whatever you need, even the materials, of which I have a significant stock and which can be used.

Courses to learn and become one with your guitar
The guitar is a commonly played instrument across the globe. It has traveled and transformed over the centuries, and is at the heart of diverse cultures and musical traditions around the world. The guitar, whether electric, folk, classical... can be played in various ways, and we instinctively feel the desire to approach certain styles that inspire us in order to nourish and build our own playing! This is what I experienced through my musical journey as an autodidact, as well as through professional training, and today I wish to pass this on.

Piano Lessons in Classical and Contemporary Styles for Beginning-Advanced Levels (ages 6 and up)
Welcome to my piano teaching studio! I am a professional pianist offering private piano and theory lessons for students of all levels. As a pianist with over 14 years of teaching experience in Europe and the USA, as well as over 23 years of playing/performing, I enjoy motivating my students with music of their own preferred style and interest, whether that be classical or contemporary. My main goal is to promote a positive experience and love for music-making during the learning process. If the student is interested in a more structured approach, I guide preparation for grades 1-8 of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) piano and music theory exams where my students consistently receive highest marks. I also have successful experience preparing students for conservatory entrance auditions, masterclasses, and competitions in the Europe, the USA, India, and Canada. We have class concerts at Pianos Maene for interested students twice per year. I am happy to provide either a more relaxed or a serious approach to learning piano, we simply need to discuss the personal goals and preferences of each student. My own studies are as follows: I have obtained two postgraduate performance degrees at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp: "Concertsoloist" in Piano Performance and "Chamber Music” (under the guidance of esteemed professor Sergei Edelmann). Prior to this, I received my Bachelor and Masters degrees in Piano Performance/Music from the University of Minnesota - Minneapolis (with Prof. Lydia Artymiw) and Texas Christian University, Fort Worth (with Dr. Tamas Ungar). My experience includes collaboration with many different instrumentalists and singers, performing as a soloist and collaborative member in several orchestras, and receiving top prizes in several competitions. While maintaining my performance and recording career in Belgium at present, I am developing my private music studio in central Antwerp and look forward to meeting new students.

John
Professional jazz musician teaching jazz, blues, funk, R&B, pop, rock, latin and classical piano.
I teach online via Zoom, using software which allows you to see the exact keys I'm playing on my keyboard. My teaching method is to focus on whatever type of music the student loves most, and to build from there. I believe that many people give up their dream of playing an instrument simply because they aren't inspired enough, so my goal is to instil a love for music, whatever that means personally for each individual student. Everyone learns differently and has their own pace and rhythm. I have some students who like to have a regular weekly or biweekly lesson, and others who just get in touch once in a while when they have digested the previous lesson and feel ready to build on it. Whatever the case, I am very flexible and we can figure out what works best for you. A bit about me: Originally honing my skills on the British jazz scene and holding residencies in restaurants and bars around the country, I then went on to tour the world playing on cruise ships, hotels and festivals. I returned to London to complete my master's in jazz piano at the Guildhall School of Music, and during this time performed regularly at Ronnie Scotts, The Vortex and many other venues across the UK. I then spent two years in South America learning about salsa and Cuban music. I now mainly work as a transcriber, writing sheet music for all instruments including full Big Band scores. I have also worked extensively in musical theatre, most recently as musical director for 'Jersey Boys', and on the first US national tour of 'Summer: the Donna Summer Musical'. The video shown below is from my stint playing and directing 'After Midnight', a show set to the music of the Duke Ellington Big Band.
