Sarshar (b. 1999) (Master's in classical music piano - composition) is a concert pianist and composer born in Tehran and educated at the conservatories of Budapest, Vienna, and Ghent. Known for his original compositions and distinctive interpretations of composers such as Chopin, Debussy, Beethoven, Liszt, and Bartók, he combines a strong classical foundation with a deeply personal musical voice. He has studied classical piano with internationally renowned pianists and has performed across Europe, including concerts in Paris, Copenhagen, Spain, Poland, Hungary, Austria, and Belgium. His performances include appearances at the Polish Institute in Paris — where Chopin himself performed in the 19th century — and at the Antonin Palace in Poland, the UNESCO World Heritage site where Chopin gave concerts during his lifetime. He has also performed for the Belgian Royal Family, Queen Mathilde and King Philippe and collaborated with internationally acclaimed artists such as Alexander Vantournhout. Sarshar is the laureate of multiple international piano competitions across Europe, China, and North America. Alongside his concert career, he composes music for film, theater, and dance productions, creating works that combine structural clarity with emotional depth and reflection. As a teacher, he focuses not only on piano technique and musicality, but also on helping students develop their own artistic identity, confidence, and connection to music. In my classes you get to work on Ableton in a well-equiped home studio, with professional monitors, and a good deal of outboard gear. Focus is to get you play with Ableton as if it were an extension of your arms. We will do this by having you make your own track, in the style you had in mind. By making your own track, you will start with the beginning, and work your way up to highly advanced stuff, including some harmony, sound synthesis techniques, mixing, and DYI mastering. At the end of the course, you will have made your own track, in the style you envisaged, and with a superior, professional sound. On myself: I have been playing music since I was a kid, first the buegel, then piano, melodica and organ. When I was in my early twenties, I jumped on computer generated music production, and finally obtained my master in electronic music production in the UK.

The (viola da) gamba is a bowed string instrument that was popular from the mid-16th to the mid-18th century. Like the recorder, the instrument comes in a variety of sizes, from small instruments in the register of the violin to large double bass ones. The best known and most commonly used type is the bass viol. The bass viol can best be described as a cross between a cello and a guitar: the tuning and left hand technique are close to the guitar, but playing position and bowing are reminiscent of the cello. Film buffs know the instrument from the movie 'Tous les Matins du Monde' in which the gamba music of Ste. Colombe and Marin Marais is central. The instrument is also known through the passions of JS Bach, in which it plays a prominent role. But the instrument also has a rich and diverse repertoire, ranging from late renaissance to early classical and an increasing number of contemporary pieces. I studied gamba at the royal conservatory in The Hague with Wieland Kuijken.
