With two decades of experience performing the piano, as well as nine years of teaching, it is my pleasure to pass on my extensive knowledge and deep passion for the piano and music. My approach to teaching is rooted in creating a comfortable, engaging and joyful learning experience for both student and instructor, all within the realm of professionalism. I am a young professional Brazilian cellist, with 9 years of study and profession, I have lived in Paris for a few months, and have several students from a wide range of ages and skill levels. I graduated from the University of São Paulo, I specialize in baroque music in Paris and I work with several renowned ensembles of early European music. I also play modern music, with my solo cello and electronic music project, I had the chance to participate in the biggest Brazilian festivals, such as the Festival "Campos do Jordão" in 2018, 2019 and 2022. I offer cello lessons for all levels and all styles (classical cello, baroque cello and modern cello), with the possibility of following the lessons at home, by webcam or at home, in English, French, Portuguese. I apply different methods of technique depending on each student and his or her projects and objectives. From Suzuki to the standard methods to pure technique applied to the repertory directly, I utilise elements from the french, American and german schools of cello playing. I also allow for group work, and the possibility of playing with friends or colleagues, so I often suggest creating small ensembles to share and learn good music with others.

Graduated from the Paris National Conservatory, international experience and major Parisian stages. Qualitative and adapted teaching! My mother being a pianist, I have been in front of a keyboard since I was little. Passionate since always, I received a sharp education in the best conservatory in Paris for adolescents and I had the chance to travel internationally for various concerts, competitions or internships. I will be happy to share this passion with you!

Welcome to the music class! Here, we are gonna discover the wonders of learning an instrument. From reading note letters, implementing a proper form to sight reading a piece, we are gonna learn in our own pace. If you're just learning music now and it feels like there's a lot to understand, don't worry we're gonna start from the basics. I will help you understand music and its elements. With your dedication and my guidance, I'm positive that we will get a good result!

These lessons are for young and/or inexperienced singers. My lesson plans are tailored towards students' individual goals. For some, this may be learning and embodying an audition song for their school's upcoming theater performance, and for others voice lessons are a first step towards singing healthily in their church choir. In any case, I focus on correcting and building core skills necessary to singing one's best while encouraging and fostering creativity, accountability, and motivation. If considered for a long-term journey towards singing, I will focus particularly on classical techniques to build steady breath control, good posture, and proper vowel and consonant formation. Along with providing repertoire, if the student is ready and wants, there will be opportunities for vocal performance in the Santa Cruz area. I will encourage audio recordings in all lessons to help with future preparations. I will be assigning some homework after every lesson, likely a combination of vocalization exercises, dedicated sheet music practice, and theory homework (if needed). *My first lesson will involve getting to know the student, their goals, and some vocalization to assess vocal level. For singers with minimal/no prior foundational music theory knowledge, I may recommend time from lessons (15-30 minutes) being allocated solely towards foundational music theory learning.

I teach online via Zoom, using software which allows you to see the exact keys I'm playing on my keyboard. My teaching method is to focus on whatever type of music the student loves most, and to build from there. I believe that many people give up their dream of playing an instrument simply because they aren't inspired enough, so my goal is to instill a love for music, whatever that means personally for each individual student. Everyone learns differently and has their own pace and rhythm. I have some students who like to have a regular weekly or biweekly lesson, and others who just get in touch once in a while when they have digested the previous lesson and feel ready to build on it. Whatever the case, I am very flexible and we can figure out what works best for you. A bit about me: Originally honing my skills on the British jazz scene and holding residencies in restaurants and bars around the country, I then went on to tour the world playing on cruise ships, hotels and festivals. I returned to London to complete my master's in jazz piano at the Guildhall School of Music, and during this time performed regularly at Ronnie Scotts, The Vortex and many other venues across the UK. I then spent two years in South America learning about salsa and Cuban music. I now mainly work as a transcriber, writing sheet music for all instruments including full Big Band scores. I have also worked extensively in musical theatre, most recently as musical director for 'Jersey Boys', and on the first US national tour of 'Summer: the Donna Summer Musical'. Would you classify improvisation as composition or performance? Well actually it is both! When you improvise you are composing music on the spot, performing what you have made up at the same time as you have composed it. For many people improvisation is a scary word and having to improvise in a group or band is an alarming prospect. However, this really does not need to be the case. As long as you have a basic knowledge of how to play your instrument you will be able to improvise. Once you know the principle of how chords are formed you will soon be improvising with ease. The key to success is understanding chords. Once you know how chords are formed and know what notes make up a few chords you will be well on your way towards being able to improvise. We will, therefore, start by ensuring a firm knowledge of certain chords. After this we will progress to improvising a simple melody over the top of these chords. The next stage is to start using notes that are not in the chord. The process is then open ended with emphasis on developing the melody. If you play a keyboard instrument you will be able to improvise your own pieces and be able to entertain your friends at a moments notice. On the other hand if you play in a band or a group you will be well equipped to do a real 'jam' session. Whether you play a single line instrument (flute, saxophone, trumpet, violin etc.) or keyboard instruments, this class is for you.

In Oud, we will focus on: Musical Maqams: Deepen your understanding of Arabic Maqams and how to apply them to playing. Musical Notes: Learn to read and perform notes on the oud with skill. Pick Exercises: Improve playing techniques using a pick to develop movement between the strings. Technique Exercises: Build playing skills through various exercises to improve speed and accuracy. Oriental Songs: Learn to play the most famous oriental tunes and songs to be able to give a distinctive performance. Musical Pieces: Study traditional and contemporary oriental pieces while developing individual performance skills. As for the piano, we will focus on: Musical Notes: Learn to read and write notes easily while improving your musical skills. Musical Scales: Study major and minor scales and their effect on playing pieces. Chords: Learn to build different chords and how to use them in playing. Western and Eastern Pieces: Present a mix of Western and Eastern pieces that enhance your skills and develop your artistic taste. Technique Exercises: Advanced exercises to improve hand coordination and improve performance on the piano. In guitar, we will learn: Musical Notes: Read and write notes easily and effectively on the guitar. Chords: Study chords and how to use them in songs and pieces. Technique Exercises: Exercises to develop left and right hand speed, focusing on accuracy and transition between chords. Musical Pieces: Learn to play different pieces from a variety of styles including Eastern and Western songs. In oriental singing, we will learn: Vocal Techniques: Exercises to strengthen and improve the voice, with an emphasis on breathing techniques and larynx control. Oriental Performance: Learn how to perform famous oriental songs, paying attention to the tones and subtleties that characterize Arabic singing. Control of vocal pitches: Develop the ability to move between vocal pitches easily, whether in high or low melodies. Let's start our musical journey together!
