About Me

I am a passionate musician and educator with a diverse background in music. Having studied music in the vibrant city of Manchester, I honed my skills and knowledge in piano & saxophone. Today, I work at a prominent record label during the day & tutor in the evenings.

With over 5 years of experience tutoring music, I take pride in my students' achievements. Numerous pupils under my guidance have taken the prestigious ABRSM exams, and without exception, all have achieved merits or distinctions, showcasing the effectiveness of my teaching approach.

My knowledge is not limited to performance alone; I possess a wide understanding of music theory. Achieving an 'A' in my A-Level music exams while concurrently pursuing their Grade 6 music theory.

I’m a professional musician who studied on the highly regarded jazz course at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance; whilst at Trinity I also studied Flute with members of some of London’s prestigious orchestras. I've performed all over London at well known venues like Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club and The South Bank Centre but also played around in the city in jazz clubs like Kansas Smitty’s and Olivers. As well as performing in London I’ve played all around the UK and abroad at festivals such as the New Generations Festival in Florence (playing with American jazz artists such as Dominic Farinacci and Dan Tepfer). I’m also a highly experienced and regard teacher having taught all the way from university level to primary school. I have a Masters of Music from Trinity Laban College of Music and Dance (London), studying under Roger Chase, and a Masters in Fine Art from Gothenburg University (Sweden) with Øvyor Volle (Vertavo Quartet). I also studied in the USA at the Manhattan School of Music, New York, and Chicago College of Performing Arts.

I work as a professional viola player across the UK and Scandinavia, with such orchestras as Swedish Radio Orchestra, Stockholm Philharmonic, Bergen, Norwegian Radio, Gothenburg Symphony, Norrkoping Symphony, Jonkoping Sinfonietta, Aarhus Symphony, and English National Ballet Philharmonic. I am also a music arranger and transcriber.
