Music lessons in a variety of genres, tailor-made for whatever the student (child or adult) requires. I can teach in a strict "classical" style or any song that the student might want to learn (as a composer I am quite savvy in arranging existing songs in any style and for any level). Input (daily practise) is required from the student for productive lessons and, if necessary, homework is given every week. I have experience with individual or group lessons.

There are two grand pianos at the location in Den Haag. There will be enough distance between the student and the teacher. For children, it is important to develop basic musical skills through Singing, Rythmique, and Ear training besides piano playing. I use one technical exercise book, the main textbook, and a theory book. Through these 3 books, students learn different aspects of music and they naturally get ready for exams and grades. After acquiring basic skills, students study Harmony and Chord exercise too. These are useful for playing pops and jazz, and they obtain a deeper understanding of classical pieces too. Private Piano lesson, from age 4 above. Children can start the lesson after being able to read the number from 1 to 5 and the alphabet from A to G. Advanced students who want to prepare for competitions, auditions, ABRSM, GCSE, IB exams, or the entrance exam of the conservatory. The concert is held annually together with students of flute, violin, and composition teachers. For the age 1-7 years, I have group Rhythmique lessons.

Welcome to my introduction site! My name is Marta and music has been a great love and passion for my entire life. Singing lessons are not only an opportunity to learn singing and something new about music but also an opportunity to express emotions, forget about everyday worries, and have fun! Through music theory lessons you can learn about the structure of music and also develop some very useful music skills such as reading music (sight-singing or sight-reading). All students who have a specific goal in mind, but also all who do not have any specific goal in mind and want to sing or learn theory just for fun, are very welcome! Different options for lessons which I am offering are described below and all of them can be modified and adjusted according to the wishes and needs of the student: SINGING LESSONS FOR CHILDREN (individual or group lessons - maximum 10 students*) Singing lessons for children is basically an integrated method that combines singing with solfeggio, developing basic music theory skills. It consists of playing musical games and singing children's songs and through those developing intonation, musical hearing, musical memory, sense for pulse and rhythm, all with the attention to healthy singing. SINGING LESSONS FOR TEENAGERS AND ADULTS (individual or group lessons - maximum 10 students*) During singing lessons we will be searching for a deeper meaning of the story and different ways of interpretation, with attention to healthy singing technique, pronunciation and style. The lessons consist of breathing exercises, vocal warm up exercises with a specific technical goal and work on the desired repertoire - meaning of the words and story, vocal technique, pronunciation, interpretation and style. My specialization is in classical singing but I don’t mind working on other genres in my classes. SIGHT SINGING LESSONS (individual or group lessons) Intense course where you will be learning how to read music at sight. The lessons consist of sight singing only, beginning from the easiest level and gradually learning how to read more and more difficult music. You will develop skills needed for sight singing as well as a certain way of thinking appropriate for sight singing. (There is no technique of singing or interpretation involved in these lessons.) SOLFEGGIO LESSONS (individual or group lessons, for children from 8 years old, teenagers and adults) In these lessons you will learn how to bring the written music to life (sight singing), how to discover and put on paper the music you hear (musical dictation) and how to build scales, intervals, and chords. This knowledge is needed and examined on every conservatoire and music academy. For some conservatoires and academies this is an obligatory pre-requirement and elimination factor on entrance exams. It is inevitable part of every professional music education. MUSIC THEORY LESSONS (individual lessons) Music theory lessons can include, if desired: solfeggio, harmony, counterpoint, music form, analysis, and/or other music theory related subjects. For each subject we can make a special program, depending on the wishes and needs of the student. COMBINED SOLFEGGIO AND SINGING LESSONS Combined solfeggio and singing lessons are also possible for adults, as separate subjects or integrated with singing lessons. In both cases the duration of each lesson is 90 minutes and the program is discussed and created based on the wishes and needs of the student. Hello singer! My name is Keith, a professional jazz vocalist and songwriter currently based in The Hague. I was born and raised in Hong Kong. I graduated from Royal Conservatoire The Hague in the Netherlands in 2022 with a degree in jazz vocals. In February 2021, I was invited by Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office to perform at their online new year receptions in Belgium and the Netherlands. My song “Who Sings With Water” has won Best Original Music of the Year at Beehive Music Award 2022 by A Cappella China. Prior to my study, I was the resident artist of Yat Po Singers, a multi-award winning a cappella theatre company in Hong Kong, from 2012 to 2018. I performed in many of our original productions, such as the CASH Golden Sail Music Award winner Rock Hard. I also arranged music for our productions of This Victoria Has No Secrets in 2019 and Pica Pica Choose in 2018. ​During my residency, I have toured Tokyo, Seoul, Penang, Taipei, Macau, Mainland China, Brussels and Luxembourg, and collaborated with various performing art groups such as Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra, Hong Kong Dance Company and Edward Lam Dance Theatre. I have given choir lessons at the primary school of European School The Hague since 2021. I was a coach for several amateur a cappella groups in Hong Kong and have given vocal lessons in many secondary schools there. With my wide range of performing experience and knowledge obtained over the years, you can surely improve your singing skills by taking lessons from me. I am a Hungarian cellist, and came to the Netherlands 6 years ago, to study early music, so I play the baroque cello and the viola da gamba as well. I have 6 years of experience teaching music and Hungarian. I've worked with children in private lessons, in music schools and in primary schools. The ability to improvise is not a natural skill that we are born with. It is an understandable chain of tools that can be learned and practiced into performance. Improvisation is something that requires discipline as much as freedom, and in fact, it stems from the understanding of sounds, the music's natural grammar. Violin is mostly seen as a melodic instrument but it can be otherwise. Outside of the classical world, rhythm reigns and the violin can be a leading rhythmical instrument too, providing solid grooves and accompaniments or challenging your fellow musicians with percussive sounds. Furthermore, to be proficient in specific styles, it is not enough to just play scales and patterns but it is necessary to learn the colors of the proper harmonical framework which is part of an idiom. In 10 years of teaching, I developed an approach that rethinks the function of fingerboard visualization allowing you to transpose in any key with great facility and to understand the logic behind the shapes of any chord on the fingerboard. In these lessons, I will help you to rethink the violin out of the box, as a powerful rhythmical and harmonical instrument while deepening your melodic ability (soloing) related to the styles you want to play: Jazz, Blues, Fusion, Pop, Rock, Brazilian, World Music. [According to the style we will also be working with loops and effects] This class is designed for musicians who already know the basics of violin techniques but addresses both beginner and advanced players in relation to the field of improvised music. My name is João, I'm from Portugal, I'm 24 years of age, and I'm doing my bachelor in jazz at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague. I've been playing piano all my life, and can't wait to share what I've learned with you! I teach piano to all ages from beguinner to intermedeate. Although I have a program, I will let you create your own path, taking in to acccount the several landmarks I create acording to your level and needs. Teaching is all about the individuality of each person I work with, and as a student myself, I find it to be one of the most important points in teaching. I focus mainly in jazz music, but since music theory and harmony respect all kind of music, I am open to every sugestion you bring in to the class. The oboe is a wind instrument that allows one to finally perform in different types of ensembles. From orchestras to a soloist career, the oboe is a pristine instrument. It doesn't mean that you must aspire to become a professional to study with me. I will tailor the lesson according to my student's needs and work towards a goal that we commonly agree on. The most important thing is to enjoy making music and that we learn a lot from each other during the process.
