About Me

Sawaddee Kha everyone, I am Kru Kan. My background is Pharmacy and I have been working in multicultural organizations for more than 9 years. However, I always have a passion of teaching since I was young. I was a tutor for my classmates during my secondary school and university. I even have more passion of teaching since I have my own 3 kids who are Thai-French nationalities. Firstly, speak a proper Thai with them since they were born and I have been teaching Thai to them for more than 5 years now. I did a Thai-French language exchange with French people when I was living in France. Now, I am also teaching Thai to foreign kids and adult in Dubai.

I enjoy cooking, reading and traveling but teaching is my passion. I feel that it is a noble and dignified profession. Teaching could change the world as it helps shape people into strong, literate, engaged, creative and independent human beings and I always believe that my students can discover themselves and make a positive difference into our world.

For the past two decades, I've had the privilege of tutoring in both French and English. My students have ranged in age, background, and origin, spanning children, teenagers, adults, professionals, and even seniors aged 85 and above.

You might wonder why I teach both languages. Well, I am bilingual, with American and Swiss/French roots, and I currently reside in Ireland. This unique blend of experiences equips me with a strong and relevant teaching approach. My teaching journey began during my time studying social work in French-speaking Switzerland. I started offering private French and English lessons to supplement my income, and I quickly discovered my passion for it. Even after graduating and embarking on a full-time career, I couldn't bear to give up this rewarding activity. I cherished the opportunity to connect with diverse individuals and assist them in achieving their language goals.

In my teaching methodology, interactivity takes center stage. I employ a variety of engaging learning tools, including photos, newspaper articles, music, videos, and more. My approach is highly adaptable, with a focus on addressing each student's unique priorities. Some seek to refine their pronunciation, grammar, and vocabulary, while others require assistance with presentations or speeches for school or work. Some simply aspire to acquire a new language to enrich their general knowledge. I also specialize in teaching younger children, a testament to my educational background and experience.

For adults, I offer online "Free Talk" classes. These classes are very popular and are ok for any age. I currently have a group class of people aged 60s to 80s. If you want to talk about daily life, news, hobbies, traveling, etc. and enjoy speaking English, then this is a good class to do it. Usually a 1-hour class is best as it gives plenty of time. If a shorter, or longer, class is better for you I can do that too. Just ask :)
